About the Role
We are looking for a highly capable AI Senior Developer to design, build, and deploy AI-powered systems across our ecommerce companies.
This role is focused on solving real business problems with modern AI tooling across marketing, ecommerce, customer support, retention, operations, finance, and research. You will work directly with leadership to identify high-leverage opportunities where AI can improve output, reduce manual work, replace fragmented tooling, and support faster, better decision-making.
This is a hands-on builder role. We are not looking for someone who only experiments with prompts. We are looking for an engineer who can design and ship real AI systems that teams use in production.
You will have access to modern AI tools, infrastructure, and a strong experimentation budget.
Responsibilities
- Design and build AI-driven systems, internal tools, and automation workflows across multiple business functions, including marketing, reporting, support, research, retention, and operations
- Develop LLM-powered tools, agents, and workflows that help teams move faster, generate better outputs, and reduce repetitive analysis
- Build systems that support use cases such as:
- marketing performance analysis
- customer insight extraction
- churn and retention analysis
- executive reporting
- competitor monitoring
- SEO and content workflows
- research summarization
- inventory and operational monitoring
- Integrate AI solutions with platforms including Shopify, Klaviyo, Meta Ads, Google Ads, Google Sheets, Slack, Notion, Gorgias, subscription platforms, analytics tools, and other internal systems
- Build reporting and analytics workflows that surface actionable insights for leadership, such as:
- campaign performance trends
- winning and underperforming creatives
- creative fatigue signals
- country-level performance patterns
- churn drivers and retention trends
- customer support issue patterns
- revenue, margin, and operational summaries
- Develop data pipelines and backend services that connect APIs, structured data, and business workflows
- Prototype quickly, test rigorously, and turn successful experiments into production-ready systems
- Design safe automation layers and approval flows for AI systems that interact with business-critical tools
- Work closely with leadership to identify, prioritize, and implement the highest-impact AI opportunities
- Continuously improve AI workflows based on usage, quality, reliability, and business value

We are open to strong candidates with different technical backgrounds, but this role will likely involve technologies such as:
- Python and/or JavaScript / TypeScript
- LLM APIs and modern AI platforms
- API integrations and backend services
- Data pipelines and workflow automation
- Docker
- Cloud infrastructure
- Vector search / retrieval systems
- Reporting, analytics, and internal dashboard tooling

Requirements
- 4+ years of software development experience with strong backend or full-stack engineering fundamentals
- 1+ years of hands-on experience building AI-powered applications, internal tools, or automation workflows
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or JavaScript / TypeScript
- Experience integrating with external APIs, SaaS platforms, and internal data sources
- Experience building internal tools, backend services, data pipelines, automations, or workflow systems
- Strong understanding of software architecture, reliability, and production system design
- Experience working with both structured and unstructured data
- Ability to move from problem definition → prototype → production in fast-moving startup environments
- Experience working in startup, growth-stage, or high-autonomy environments
- Ability to translate messy business needs into practical technical systems
- Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with founders, operators, and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Experience with Shopify or ecommerce environments
- Experience with Klaviyo, Meta Ads, Google Ads, Gorgias, Slack, Notion, or Google Sheets integrations
- Experience building AI agents, orchestration workflows, or retrieval-based systems
- Experience with reporting, analytics, BI, or dashboarding workflows
- Experience with subscription, retention, or customer lifecycle data
- Experience designing systems with approval layers, permission boundaries, and operational guardrails
- Experience in DTC ecommerce, health, wellness, supplements, or subscription businesses
