We are seeking a skilled Core Developer (Rust/ C++) for Swarm Robotics & Sensor Control with over 5 years of professional experience to join our dynamic development team. You will play a key role in building and optimizing the core architectures for the real-time control and management of robotic swarms and sensor systems. About the Job

As a Flight Control Systems Engineer, you will be a key part of our Flight Controls team to solve some of the most interesting flight guidance, dynamics, and controls problems you’ll have ever heard of. Together with our world-class team, currently four team members, you will take an empowering role: pushing the boundaries of drone technologies.

You will be working closely with stakeholders from the navigation, embedded systems, and flight test departments to conceive, implement, and validate flight guidance and control system algorithms, features, and improvements. Flight Controls at Quantum-Systems - your mission will be a powerful impact.
 

What is your Day to Day Mission:

• Design and programming of flight guidance and flight control algorithms for automatic and autonomous flight
• Support in model building for flight dynamic processes and design of control and feedback control laws based on these models
• Preparation and execution of flight tests with UAS systems
• Analysis of flight data recordings as well as evaluation and processing of test results
• Generation of C/C++ code with Matlab Simulink and its integration into the FCS / autopilot framework
• Supporting the certification of our product family and obtaining flight permits, e.g. for BVLOS flight projects
• Collaboration in the further development of the product development process

What you bring to the team:

• You have completed a degree/apprenticeship in the field of aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, electrical engineering or robotics.
• You have theoretical knowledge in the field of flight mechanics and have mastered the basics of control engineering. You also have practical experience with model aircraft, multicopters and / or their subsystems.
• You have knowledge of programming with Matlab/Simulink. Fluent handling of the programming language C and Git is also desirable.
• You are privately interested in model aircraft construction, drones or robotics and can't wait to implement and try out new ideas.
• Due to your open, communicative, friendly and competent attitude, it is easy for you to be considered as an internal expert.
• You are highly self-motivated and drive your area of responsibility independently.

About the Job

As Linux Software Engineer, you will be a key part of our System Architecture team to develop and maintain the Linux-based systems powering our unmanned aerial vehicles at Quantum-Systems. Together with our World-Class-Team, currently 3 team members, you will take an empowering role: pushing the boundaries of drone technologies.

You will be working closely with stakeholders from the Avionics, Systems Engineering, and Flight Testing departments to integrate hardware, third-party software, and onboard applications into a high-performance Linux platform.

Providing a reliable, scalable, and mission-critical software environment is essential to Quantum-Systems – your mission will have a powerful impact.

What is your Day to Day Mission:

• Maintaining existing as well as creating new Linux applications on the unmanned aircraft
• Designing and coordinating interfaces between teams, documenting the architecture and design decisions
• Integration of hardware and 3rd-party software into the Linux system, aligning with suppliers and other teams
• Testing of existing and new applications. This includes writing unit tests, integration tests, functional tests, and acceptance tests
• Analyzing logs from flights, both from test flights as well as real-world customer issues
• Debugging and finding solutions for software and hardware issues related to the Linux system
• Maintaining and extending the build system, pipeline, and tooling. Creating releases with release notes
• Working in an agile environment and following the defined development process

What you bring to the team:
 

• 3+ years of experience in Linux software development, preferably in embedded or robotics systems
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ (14 or newer) with proven experience developing Linux applications
• Understanding of Linux internals, including system services, device trees, and kernel modules
• Experience with cross-compilation, Yocto, Buildroot, or similar build systems
• Hands-on experience with debugging tools (e.g., GDB, strace, perf) and log analysis
• Familiarity with testing methodologies, including writing and executing unit, integration, and system-level tests
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (e.g., Git), and release management
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug both software and hardware integration issues

As a Lead Embedded Software Engineer you are a key part of our Architecture team to develop and implement the core features and functionalities to have our drones operate safely and autonomously in the air.
 

Together with our world-class team, currently seven team members, you will take an empowering role: pushing the boundaries of drone technologies. You will be working closely with stakeholders in Germany and US from the System architecture and Hardware development departments.

What is your Day to Day Mission:

• Lead a team of embedded engineers
• Implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the Quantum-Systems autopilot firmware and firmware stack
• Design, Conception, implementation, and testing of new autopilot functionalities
• Export of flight control and navigation algorithms from Matlab / Simulink and integration into the autopilot’s embedded framework
• Implementation, maintenance, and optimization of BSP / peripheral and external sensor drivers and their optimized operation in the scope of the real-time operating system
• Building, documenting, and maintaining autopilot firmware for flight tests. Creation of flight test tickets, support of flight tests, and post-flight data analysis
• Creating unit tests, debugging/tracing of the code base for code coverage/functionality testing
• Maintenance of the firmware update eco system, including bootloaders & firmware updates
• Support in the implementation and maintenance of production tools

What you bring to the team:

• You have completed a degree in the field of bachelor’s or master’s degree in software engineering / electrical engineering and you have several years of experience working with embedded systems.
• You have a deep understanding of embedded systems and you are a senior in designing, implementing and optimizing embedded systems.
• You have strong knowledge of microcontrollers (ARM, Cortex-M), real-time operating systems and hardware and communication interfaces interfaces (UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, ETH ...)
• You are experienced with real-time operating systems like FreeRTOS or uCOS II and knowledge of multi-threading, task scheduling, and inter-task communication.
• You have the ability to bridge the gap between hardware and software, understanding the electrical and physical constraints, profound understanding of electronic schematics and efficiently utilizing available hardware resources
• You master version control and collaboration tools such as git and gitlab and you have experience in working in collaborative development environments with agile methodologies.

As an Embedeed Software Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be an important part of our R&D team. You will be a member of our QA team, working in close collaboration with the development team to ensure that our software for high-tech drones meets the quality standards. 

You will design and execute verification strategies for low‑level firmware, device drivers, and flight control software,. You will own test design from requirements to automated, hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) regression, ensuring reliability, determinism, and safety across release. 

This is a full-time office job. Candidates must be located in Kyiv.
 

What is your Day to Day Mission:

• Translate system and safety requirements into testable specifications, acceptance criteria, and traceability matrices for embedded components. 
• Design and implement automated tests for firmwares. 
• Build and maintain HIL test benches: orchestrate power supplies, oscilloscopes/logic analyzers, RF signal generators etc 
• Develop board bring‑up test suites covering bootloaders, secure boot, installation and upgrade and peripheral self‑tests. 
• Own regression pipelines: containerized runners, artifact retention, flaky‑test triage, trend reporting, and release quality gates. 
• Introduce fault‑injection and negative testing to validate fail‑safe behavior. 
• Collaborate with Embedded Development Team to isolate root causes with traces, logic captures, and on‑target debug  
• Review, challenge, and optimize existing test cases
