Principle is built by OpenBabylon, a frontier AI research lab based in San Francisco. Team of 3 PhDs, ex-Google/YouTube ML architects, ex-CERN physicists and operators who've built and sold venture-backed companies. Previously deployed LLM solutions for governments and built sovereign AI infrastructure at national scale. Currently piloting with Fortune 500 companies, government agencies and major tech firms.

Principle is a Strategic Foresight AI platform built by OpenBabylon -- a frontier AI research lab. 3 PhDs, ex-Google, ex-CERN. San Francisco-based. $2M pre-seed led by SMRK VC and SMOK VC, with RideHome AI Fund (LPs include Marc Andreessen and Chris Dixon), a16z Scout Fund, Bain Capital Scout Fund, Unpopular Ventures and angels from Google, Groq, DeepMind and Anthropic.

We build digital twins of companies, competitors, regulators and markets -- then simulate branching futures so leadership teams can stress-test strategy before committing resources. What McKinsey does in 6 months for $1-2M, we deliver in weeks. Already running pilots with Fortune 500 companies, Gulf state governments and $100M+ tech firms.

The product works in three phases: Ground (build digital twins), Simulate (run strategic directions through multi-actor scenarios), Operate (track live signals, update continuously). Right now delivery is high-touch. We're transitioning to a productized platform.

Your mission: Own that transition. The entry point is live market intelligence -- tracking competitor moves, regulatory shifts, pricing changes. That's the hook. Then you upsell into full strategic simulation and make Principle the second brain for Chief Strategy Officers. You'll build the product that integrates into their decision-making process and stays there.

We're 8 people. You'll be the first PM. You'll work directly with founders and the research team.

    What you'll do

    • Own the product roadmap from semi-automated delivery to self-serve platform
    • Build the live market intelligence layer -- the entry product that gets CSOs hooked
    • Design the upsell path from market intelligence into strategic simulation
    • Turn Principle into an embedded tool in company processes -- not a one-off engagement but a continuous second brain
    • Translate pilot feedback into specs -- what to build, what to skip, what to fake for now
    • Own the "Ground β†’ Simulate β†’ Operate" workflow as a repeatable product experience
    • Sit in on sales calls, read pilot reports, understand what makes a CSO say yes
    • Target market: US mid-market to enterprise (500+ employees). Tech is top priority, then PE, oil & gas, logistics, finance, manufacturing
    • Own metrics: pilot-to-subscription conversion and user metrics

    Requirements

    • 3+ years product management in B2B SaaS
    • Experience with information products -- market intelligence, competitive intelligence, analytics platforms, research tools or anything where users receive structured insights on a regular basis (Klue, Crayon, AlphaSense, CB Insights, similar)
    • Shipped product from 0β†’1, not just iterated on existing features
    • Can write a spec, draw a wireframe, argue about scope and ship by Friday
    • Understands lead-to-expand product strategy -- how to hook users with one value prop and upsell into deeper engagement
    • Comfortable working with AI/ML teams -- you don't need to train models but you need to understand inputs, outputs and limitations
    • Strong English (C1+ or native)
    • Comfortable with ambiguity, speed and priorities changing weekly

This role is for builders, not managers. If you've run a Jira board for 50 people, this isn't it. If you've shipped product with 3 engineers and no designer -- let's talk.

    Nice to have

    • Claude Code, Cursor or Google Antigravity experience -- big plus
    • Background in competitive intelligence, market research or strategy consulting tools
    • Experience with enterprise sales cycles ($50K+ ACV)
    • Understanding of LLMs and agentic AI architectures
    • Worked in defense, government or regulated industries
    • Data visualization / dashboard UX experience
    • Familiarity with signal detection, alerting systems or real-time data products
    • LATAM timezone -- big plus. Western Europe also works

    Compensation

    • $3,000-5,000/month base (contract)
    • After trial: equity discussion, salary review, full-time conversion

This is a contract-to-hire role. Start as a contractor, convert to full-time after a successful trial period.
