We are seeking an experienced Automation QA Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for enterprise applications. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in Playwright and TypeScript, a quality-first mindset, and experience integrating automated testing into modern CI/CD pipelines. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable software at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable, and maintainable test automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript.
- Build end-to-end, integration, API, and regression test suites for enterprise-grade web applications.
- Create robust automation architecture following industry best practices, design patterns, and coding standards.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous quality assurance.
- Collaborate with software engineers during feature development to define test strategies and acceptance criteria.
- Implement reliable test reporting, logging, screenshots, video capture, and failure diagnostics.
- Develop reusable utilities, page object models, fixtures, custom reporters, and helper libraries.
- Identify automation opportunities and continuously improve test coverage, execution speed, and framework stability.
- Perform root cause analysis of test failures and distinguish between product defects and automation issues.
- Execute cross-browser and cross-platform testing using Playwright.
- Contribute to code reviews and promote automation best practices across engineering teams.
- Monitor test execution metrics and provide quality insights to stakeholders.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and help establish enterprise automation standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
- 3+ years of experience building automation frameworks using Playwright.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript.
- Experience designing automation frameworks from the ground up.
- Strong understanding of Page Object Model (POM), fixtures, test data management, and design patterns.
- Experience testing REST APIs using Playwright or related tools.
- Hands-on experience with Git and modern version control workflows.
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
- Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with SQL and database validation.
- Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing microservices and distributed systems.
- Experience with Docker and containerized test execution.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with performance, accessibility, and visual regression testing.
- Knowledge of security testing fundamentals.
- Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.
