Project: Development and optimization of a Gitleaks-based secret scanning solution     

The client's existing scanner will be enhanced to provide more accurate results through the integration of AI and prepared for a global rollout.

The scanner will be expanded to other technologies.

The goal is to optimize the scanner's performance and extend its capabilities to ensure it can handle a broader range of tasks efficiently.

This will involve not only improving its accuracy but also making it versatile enough to be deployed on a global scale.

Tasks:

Enhancement of the secret scanner with custom extensions in Rust

Implementation of new detection patterns and regex rules for various secret types

integration into GitLab CI/CD pipelines with automated policy checks

Connection to LLM systems (ONNX) for false-positive reduction

Improvement of detection rates and scan performance

Evaluation of alternative scanner tools

Documentation and training of development teams

Enforcement of security best practices

Requirements:

Rust – Strong command of the language and understand its specifics

GitLab CI/CD – Deep understanding of pipeline architectures, job orchestration, and best practices

GitLab Policies – Hands-on experience with policy management and compliance requirements

Docker – Expertise in container development, multi-stage builds, security aspects, and optimization

Kubernetes – Solid knowledge

LLM & ONNX – Fundamental understanding of Large Language Models and the ONNX format

Secret Management – Understanding of different secret types, their handling, and security aspects

Bonus: Postgres & Redis – Practical experience with both database systems, their architecture, and performance tuning

Your Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Java
• Build scalable, secure and high-performance backend architectures
• Integrate internal and external systems via RESTful APIs and messaging services
• Collaborate closely with Frontend, Product Management, DevOps and Architecture teams
• Write clean, testable and maintainable code following best practices
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions and architectural planning
• Work in an agile environment (Scrum/Kanban)

Your Profile

• Several years of hands-on experience as Backend Developer / Java Developer
• Strong expertise in Java (Java 11+), incl. Spring or Spring Boot
• Solid knowledge in:
• REST APIs / microservices
• Relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
• Build & dependency management tools (Maven, Gradle)
• Version control (Git)
• Experience with:
• CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins)
• Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or similar) — a plus
• Container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) — nice to have
• Strong problem-solving skills, structured way of working, ownership mindset
• Good English skills for international collaboration
