Job Description

Elevate your career by joining us in our work with a prestigious UK-based multinational media company as a consultant. Seize the opportunity to grow professionally by leveraging cutting-edge technologies, driving the migration towards technical excellence, and contributing to products that reach millions of users daily. Enhance your skills in shaping team workflows within a dynamic international corporate environment.

The team develops and operates the services behind sign-in for millions of users: identity, authentication, authorisation and personalisation, built to be secure, scalable and highly available.

Key responsibilities:

• Service Development: Design, build and maintain secure, scalable backend services for authentication, authorisation, identity and personalisation, delivering high-quality, production-ready code.
• Epic Tech Lead: Take on tech lead responsibilities for assigned epics: shaping the technical approach, breaking the work down and steering it through to delivery.
• Quality and Testing: Write and maintain unit, integration and automated tests, and give constructive code reviews to keep engineering standards high.
• Operational Excellence: Integrate services with monitoring and observability tooling, and take part in in-hours production support and incident response. Any out-of-hours support is arranged separately.
• Prioritisation and Flow: Work to the priorities agreed with the team, and flag work that is poorly broken down or blocking delivery, proposing a better approach before picking up new work.
• Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Work with architects, product and technical leads to turn requirements into implementable solutions, and support less experienced engineers through pairing, code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Agile Delivery: Work within an agile, multidisciplinary team to plan, develop and deliver product increments iteratively.

Qualifications:

• Backend Proficiency: Over 5 years of production experience building scalable distributed systems and backend services with TypeScript or JavaScript.
• AWS Serverless: Over 2 years of experience with AWS serverless architecture, including Lambda, API Gateway, CDK and CloudFormation.
• Test-Driven Development: Strong experience with TDD and broader testing and quality practices.
• CI/CD and Operations: Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and addressing operational concerns: monitoring, performance testing, scalability, availability, resilience and security.
• Technical Leadership: Experience as technical lead on at least one medium or large piece of work (3+ months).
• Nice to Have: Practical experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect and customer identity and access management (CIAM); Java; CloudWatch or Grafana; DynamoDB, Kinesis, ALB/WAF Node.js.

You will work directly with business stakeholders and domain experts to understand their objectives, processes, constraints, and operational knowledge, and translate these inputs into reliable, reusable AI capabilities.

This is a highly hands-on engineering role at the intersection of software engineering, AI agent development, prompt engineering, context engineering, and business process automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Work directly with business stakeholders and domain experts to understand their objectives, workflows, constraints, and expected outcomes.
• Analyse business requirements, documentation, examples, templates, and other reference materials to identify opportunities for AI-driven automation.
• Identify business workflows and use cases that can be implemented, streamlined, or enhanced through Claude Code Skills.
• Design, implement, test, and maintain reusable and production-quality Claude Code Skills.
• Develop clear skill instructions, supporting scripts, reference materials, validation logic, and reusable workflow components.
• Translate complex, ambiguous, or domain-specific business processes into structured and executable instructions for AI agents.
• Apply prompt and context engineering techniques to improve the reliability and effectiveness of AI-driven workflows.
• Evaluate skill behaviour using realistic scenarios, test cases, acceptance criteria, and representative business data.
• Iteratively improve the accuracy, reliability, usability, and maintainability of AI skills based on testing results and stakeholder feedback.
• Collaborate with engineering and business teams to ensure developed solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned with real-world requirements.
• Contribute to the development of reusable patterns and best practices for agentic engineering and AI-powered developer workflows.

Required Experience

• Strong hands-on experience using Claude Code in real-world software development or business workflow scenarios.
• Practical experience creating Claude Code Skills or comparable reusable capabilities for AI coding agents.
• Strong understanding of modern AI engineering and agentic development patterns, including:
• Agentic workflows
• Tool use and tool calling

• Context engineering
• Structured instruction design
• AI workflow orchestration
• Proven professional software engineering experience, with the ability to design, build, test, review, and maintain production-quality solutions.
• Ability to translate business requirements, operational processes, and domain knowledge into clear technical designs and executable AI workflows.
• Experience working with non-deterministic AI systems, including evaluating behaviour, identifying failure modes, and iteratively improving solution quality.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in ambiguous and rapidly evolving environments.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate directly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
