We are International Showtimes; a global entertainment data aggregator from Berlin, Germany. We operate in 120 + markets worldwide and serve clients across the globe. Our automated algorithm connects to 25k+ entertainment websites, to aggregate rich and high-quality data. The International Showtimes team consists of 21+ smart, motivated, and friendly people. We work remotely with team members across the globe. Now we are looking for you to support us with our next growth phase in 2024.

Your Profile

You're offering these qualifications:

• You have at least 1-2 years of experience with TypeScript.
• You have strong and proven experience in web scraping including advanced techniques for bypassing CAPTCHA, Cloudflare, Akamai, and other sophisticated security measures.
• You are familiar with some of the following technologies and libraries: regular expressions, CSS, HTML, jQuery, cheerio.js, JSON parsing/format, moment.js, Node.js, and underscore.
• You understand the concepts of working with Promises, async/await, callbacks and in general with asynchronous programming.
• You are familiar with working with Postgres, MongoDB and Redis.
• You know how to work with git.
• You have a good command of English.
• You are friendly and open-minded.
• You are not fearing problems, you rather like to solve them with your unique approach.
• You are professional and reliable.

You're offering these qualifications:

Required Skills

• Strong TypeScript skills.
• Experience bypassing website protective measures (e.g., CAPTCHAs, IP bans).
• Ability to bypass Puppeteer detection.
• Experience handling dynamic content using headless browsers.
• Knowledge of unit testing and end-to-end (e2e) testing.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code and improve overall code quality.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills within a development team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Image parsing skills (e.g., parsing seating grids from images).
• Experience handling large-scale data extraction and processing.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience monitoring website structure changes and building alerting features.
• Ability to document processes and provide training to new team members.
• Track record of suggesting and implementing improvements in crawling frameworks.

Our automated algorithm connects to 19k+ entertainment websites, to aggregate rich and high-quality data 24x7. The International Showtimes team consists of 22+ smart, motivated, and friendly people. We work remotely with team members in Germany, Albania, Kosovo, Poland, Colombia, and many more countries. We are now looking for you to support us in our next growth phase.

Your Tasks

As a Data Quality Manager and Support Agent at International Showtimes, you will have many exciting responsibilities. You will build with the management the data quality and support-related process for one of our products. You will work closely with other teams on important tasks and projects that will have a significant impact on the business. Your main responsibilities are to ensure a high data quality standard and to provide a great customer support experience. This role can also develop into a team lead role. 

This role operates in the US time zone.

• Responding to customer support requests via email (no phone/verbal contact)  
• Administration of data sets  
• Data research and data entry 
• Researching and resolving data errors 
• Development of new data quality concepts (KPIs, Benchmarks, etc.) and conducting the implementation phase 
• Creating data quality reports  

• Testing new tools and applications 

   

You're offering these qualifications
 

• Ideally, you studied business, computer science, or conducted a study in a related field
• You're able to work the US time zone. 
• Ideally, you have an understanding of IT development and experience with SQL 
• Ideally, you have experience working in the customer support sector
• You enjoy administering and cleaning data sets  
• You work accurately and deliver high-quality results with your analytical mindset
• You do not fear challenges, you rather like to solve them with your own unique approach
• You work independently, and you are reliable and accountable  
• You have a very good command of English
• You are eager to learn new skills
• You are friendly and open-minded
