About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior PHP/Laravel Backend Developer to join our development team. In this role, you will lead backend development efforts, architect robust and scalable systems, and collaborate closely with frontend developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers to deliver high-quality web applications.

You should have deep expertise in PHP and Laravel, as well as a strong understanding of REST APIs, database design, and best practices in backend architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems using Laravel and modern PHP.
• Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with frontend and third-party services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Ensure code quality through test-driven development and code reviews.
• Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and security.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
• Participate in system architecture planning and technical decision-making.
• Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation of APIs, workflows, and system processes.
• Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues in production environments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend development with PHP.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with the Laravel framework.
• Strong knowledge of MySQL or other relational databases.
• Proficiency in RESTful API development and integration.
• Familiarity with queues, jobs, Laravel event system, and service providers.
• Experience with unit testing and test-driven development.
• Familiarity with Git, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of OAuth, JWT, and other authentication protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Nice to Have

• Experience with microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of Laravel Nova, Horizon, or Telescope.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms.
• Background in Agile/Scrum development environments.
