Senior PHP Developer – Position Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend development with PHP.
• Expert-level proficiency in Laravel, including
  • Advanced knowledge of Laravel ecosystem and best practices
  • Experience with queues, events, caching, Eloquent optimization, API development
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL, including:
  • Database design and normalization
  • Query optimization and performance tuning
  • Experience with complex SQL structures (views, triggers, stored functions)
• Hands-on experience with Docker:
  • Building and maintaining containerized development environments
  • Docker Compose workflows
  • CI/CD integration using containers
• Practical knowledge of AWS cloud services, such as:
  • EC2, RDS, S3, ECS/EKS, Lambda
  • Infrastructure management and deployment best practices
  • Monitoring and scaling strategies

Additional Skills (Nice to Have)

• Experience working with Claude Sonnet or similar LLM/AI-assisted development workflows.
• Background in microservices architecture or event-driven systems.
• Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, or other IaC tools.

Soft Skills

• Advanced English communication skills (written and spoken).
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to design scalable solutions.
• Ability to mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews
• Proactive mindset and ability to work independently.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using PHP (Laravel).
• Own technical decisions and help shape project architecture.
• Build and maintain SQL schemas and optimize database performance.
• Work with the DevOps team to maintain scalable cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (frontend, QA, product).
• Participate in sprint planning, documentation(Confluence), and code quality processes.
