This role combines hands-on technical excellence with senior leadership and C-level decision-making.
 

Our client is a fast-growing international gaming company developing mobile games and building a large-scale platform that unifies all their products into a single live ecosystem.

Requirements

Must-Have

• 8+ years of engineering experience, including 4+ years in senior leadership (Head of Engineering / VP Eng / CTO).
• Experience 4–5+ years in iGaiming
• Proven experience building large-scale interactive platforms or live game systems.
• Deep expertise in backend microservices, event streaming, and real-time platforms.
• Strong client/mobile engineering understanding (Node.js, Pixi.js – a plus).
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (GCP/AWS), CI/CD, observability, scalable DB/caching design.
• Experience in regulated gaming ecosystems, operator integrations, RNG/compliance.
• Excellent communication skills.
   

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with: GKE, Terraform, TypeScript/Node.js, TypeORM, React, PostgreSQL, Redis, Prometheus.
• Background in loyalty/engagement or gamified social systems.
• Wallet/crypto integration experience.

Experience shipping both client and server components of slot/casino games.


Success Metrics (First 12 Months)

• Launch of a production-ready MVP platform integrated with 3–5 live games and at least 1 operator.
• Achieving stable SLAs for uptime, latency, and error budgets.
• Reducing operator onboarding time to defined targets (days, not weeks).

Improving internal engineering velocity by 2–3× through process optimization and automation.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Leadership

• Define and own the technology vision and platform strategy.
• Build and scale a high-performance engineering organization (hiring, KPIs, processes, culture).
• Collaborate closely with executive leadership to translate business goals into actionable technical roadmaps.
• Manage external vendors and technology partners (including platform integrators).

Architecture & Engineering Delivery

• Architect the platform: microservices, event-driven components, reward engines, matchmaking, leaderboards, telemetry, caching, queues.
• Build the integration model for operators and aggregators: SDKs, RGS, Wallet Adapters, secure APIs.
• Oversee backend and client engineering for high-performance, mobile-first game systems.
• Define standards for CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and release governance.

Product & LiveOps

• Implement missions, events, progression, loyalty systems, currencies, demo/real play weighting, and other platform mechanics.
• Ensure system security, anti-fraud protection, and regulatory compliance.
• Build full LiveOps capabilities: analytics, A/B testing, dashboards, experiment frameworks, and rapid incident response.

People, Culture & Security

• Introduce secure development practices and data protection standards.
• Define engineering processes, release cadences, and quality guidelines.
• Mentor senior engineers and foster a culture of ownership, craftsmanship, and delivery excellence.
