This contractor will build full-stack features across WordPress, custom APIs, integrations, and AI-driven functionality. Experience with CLI tools and integrating external services into WordPress is essential.

The WordPress VIP → Altis migration will be complete before onboarding.

Key Responsibilities

- Build and maintain full-stack WordPress features, plugins, and integrations.

- Develop for large, high-traffic WordPress platforms.

- Implement AI-driven features in WordPress.

- Build and integrate custom REST or GraphQL APIs.

- Work with databases, schemas, and performance tuning.

- Use AI tools for coding, debugging, and test generation.

- Maintain CLI and developer tooling.

- Support debugging, architecture decisions, and performance improvements.

Required Qualifications

- 4+ years full-stack experience.

- Experience with high-traffic WordPress VIP/Altis or similar infrastructure.

- Strong skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js, WordPress, and CLI tools.

- Proven API integration experience.

- Experience using AI tools for development.

- Strong understanding of scalability, caching, and performance.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with AWS or GCP, Route53/DNS, Google Tag Manager.

- Python experience.

- Familiarity with AI tooling, vector databases, etc.

- Experience with Docker or microservices.

We are seeking an expert Front-End Engineer (Contractor) with deep experience building and maintaining high-traffic, large-scale WordPress websites, especially on platforms such as WordPress VIP, Altis, or similar enterprise-grade hosting environments.

This contractor will focus on modern WordPress development using Gutenberg, block themes, and React, including upgrading legacy themes into modern block-based architectures.

This is a remote contractor role intended for professionals based in the Philippines, with required collaboration overlap with U.S. Pacific Time.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, upgrade, and maintain Gutenberg/block-based WordPress themes.

- Modernize legacy PHP-based themes into React-driven Gutenberg/block themes.

- Build reusable WordPress blocks, components, and patterns aligned with the design system.

- Implement SEO best practices, accessibility improvements, and performance optimizations.

- Work on UI enhancements for high-scale, high-traffic WordPress environments.

- Implement pixel-perfect UI from Figma or similar tools.

- Ensure responsive, accessible, and cross-browser compatible front-end interfaces.

- Integrate front-end components with WordPress APIs.

- Use AI tools for coding, debugging, and generating tests.

- Follow modern Git workflows and participate in code reviews.

Required Qualifications

- 3+ years front-end engineering experience.

- 2+ years modern WordPress development experience.

- Strong experience with high-traffic WordPress sites on WordPress VIP, Altis, or similar.

- Expert knowledge of Gutenberg, block themes, and WordPress theming.

- Advanced React and JavaScript/TypeScript skills.

- Strong CSS Skills (CSS3, SASS/SCSS, BEM, responsive/mobile first)

- Experience with build tools (Webpack, Vite, or similar) and modern bundling/transpilation workflows

- Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG/ARIA)

- Strong understanding of SEO and performance optimization.

- Knowledge of REST API integrations.

- Comfortable using AI tools for development.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with design systems and automated testing.
