Convolve LLC

MIT spinoff seeks talented full stack developer to help pioneer AI in the STEM education industry. You will design the architecture, write production code yourself, integrate AI features, and lead a junior developer. You will be building web applications and automations used directly by our clients (students and parents), and by our internal team (teachers, staff).

Responsibilities

- Turn high-level business needs into a complete technical plan

- Design a clean, modular architecture built for handoff and long-term maintenance

- Build the platform end-to-end (frontend, backend, DB, cloud)

- Integrate modern AI tools (LLM APIs, embeddings, AI assistants, automation workflows)

- Set coding standards, documentation standards, and project structure

- Mentor, assign work to, and manage a junior developer

- Ensure the codebase is predictable, testable, well-documented, and straightforward for future dev teams

- Communicate trade-offs, risks, and technical decisions clearly

Skills and Experience Needed

- Strong full-stack skills (front-end + back-end + database + deployment)

- Experience building full products or large systems from scratch

- Ability to work independently and make technical decisions

- Ability to design codebases that can be handed off smoothly

- Experience creating documentation, API specs, coding standards

- Experience leading or mentoring other developers

- Clear communication and ability to turn business goals into technical actions

- AI experience including LLM APIs, integrating AI assistants into workflows, automating tasks with AI tools

- Bonus: experience with education platforms, scheduling systems, payments, or dashboards

Tech Stack (Flexible): Experience with any modern full-stack framework is fine. Examples:

- Frontend: React / Next.js / Vue

- Backend: Node.js / Python / Django / FastAPI / NestJS

- Database: PostgreSQL / MySQL

- AI: OpenAI/Anthropic/etc. LLM APIs, embeddings, vector stores

- Cloud: AWS / GCP / DigitalOcean

This is a full-time position with a monthly base salary (varying based on candidate's background and experience level), plus additional performance-based bonuses.
