This is your chance to step into a lead role at a fast-moving Swiss tech company and actually be trusted to own delivery, shape outcomes, and grow fast.
We’re Axisbits. A Switzerland-based software agency with one clear goal: to become the No. 1 partner for custom platform development in the country. Our projects are growing fast and we’re looking for a sharp, reliable and multilingual Project Manager to help us take them across the finish line. Someone fluent in English, German, and Ukrainian or Russian, who can confidently navigate between clients and our senior Ukrainian dev team.
You’ll report directly to our COO in Zurich, who remains the strategic account owner. While the Swiss team handles consulting and wireframes, you’ll take full ownership of delivery: Turning ideas into results, leading the development team, and keeping quality, timelines, and communication on point.
This isn’t an assistant role. It’s a position of full ownership, with a clear path to grow into a key leadership role. If you’re a proactive thinker, a doer and someone who takes real pride in delivering great work — we’d love to meet you.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Scope
- Convert approved wireframes & business specs into detailed release / version road-maps
- Break work into two-week sprints (live systems) or larger build "versions" and maintain the backlog
Task Management
- Write crystal-clear tickets in a task-management system with acceptance criteria
- Clarify requirements for devs and ask open questions for the client
- Keep task statuses up to date
Team Coordination
- Daily stand-up (if needed) with developers in Ukrainian/Russian
- Sync part-time DevOps & designer on dependencies
- Remove blockers
Client Communication
- Attend weekly/bi-weekly progress calls (English/German) with the COO; demo increments, gather feedback
- Handle day-to-day questions in Slack channels
Budget & Risk Control
- Track hours cap if exists; surface overruns early
- Maintain risk log and mitigation plan
Quality & Delivery
- Coordinate UAT, release check-lists, hot-fix windows
- Prepare handover docs and basic user guides when a phase completes
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- 4+ years leading multi-disciplinary software teams (custom web or SaaS products).
- Solid grasp of decoupled architectures (REST APIs, front-end/back-end split).
- Hands-on mastery of a work-item system (Productive, Jira, ClickUp, etc.).
- Proven record of controlling fixed-price or budget-capped projects.
- Languages: English C1–C2, German C1, Ukrainian/Russian native.
- Able to overlap 10:00–17:00 CET (Swiss) and stay flexible for the occasional release after hours.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience working directly with Western European clients.
- Familiarity with Jenkins pipelines and basic DevOps terminology.
- Formal agile or PMP certification.
Compensation & Benefits
- Time off: 15 paid vacation days per year, plus 12 public holidays (combination of Ukrainian and Swiss holidays)
- Remote setup: Work from anywhere: Fully remote, with a focus on results
- Schedule: Flexible working hours with core availability between 10:00–17:00 CET (8 hours/day total)
- Equipment: Bring your own device
- Trial period: 3 months to get to know each other and confirm it's the right fit
Reporting Structure & Collaboration
- You report directly to our COO in Zurich, who also acts as the strategic account lead.
- You collaborate daily with a senior Ukrainian development team, designers and DevOps engineers.
- While the COO handles high-level client strategy and escalation, you’ll own day-to-day delivery — keeping projects on track, teams aligned and clients informed.
