Atorus Research is seeking an Junior Fullstack Developer to join our team. This role involves the end-to-end development and implementation of our software products, designing and maintaining web apps. What Will You Do?

• Collaborate on diverse clinical and statistical data science projects, contributing to high-quality analytical and software development deliverables.
• Design, develop, and maintain web apps:
  • With backend primarily in Python, but applying multi-language approaches where optimal. 
  • Take an open approach to frontend tech stack if the result adheres to the company's set of guidelines. 
  • Making sure apps are Docker ready and can be inserted into existent infrastructure
• Write and maintain clear technical specifications, user documentation, and developer guides.
• Ensure high code quality by implementing unit tests, managing CI/CD pipelines, and maintaining clean, well-documented Git repositories.
• Support project execution by interfacing with clients, assisting in planning, and contributing to technical leadership when required.

What Do We Expect from You?

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience: 0–2 years in software development, data science, or statistical programming.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in backend on Python (other languages are also considered if willing to learn it) and any frontend stack of your choice.
  • Familiarity with web frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, React) and API development. (Flask, Jinja2, shadcn would be nice to haves)
  • Experience with unit testing, UAT, and using CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).

  • Comfortable using Git for version control in team-based projects.

We are seeking an experienced React/JavaScript Developer who can translate design concepts into interactive, production-ready web applications. The ideal candidate combines deep front-end development expertise with a solid foundation in UI/UX design principles, modern component design patterns, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to deliver polished, data-driven applications.

Responsibilities

• Build high-quality React applications directly from wireframes and design specifications.
• Demonstrated ability to design user interfaces, including wireframes, layout flows, and visual styles using tools like Figma or Adobe XD.
• Implement custom UI components and reusable modules using React, TypeScript, and modern state management libraries.
• Develop applications with complex interactive behaviors, such as:

Qualifications

The ideal candidate combines strong R programming skills with experience in UI customization and advanced Shiny patterns, including state management, modular design, and extending Shiny with JavaScript when necessary.

• Implement custom UI components within Shiny using CSS and light JavaScript for R (e.g., custom input/output bindings, small DOM manipulations, htmlwidgets).
• Create or extend htmlwidgets to support bespoke visualizations and interactivity.
• Design and manage application state using R6 classes and modular Shiny architecture.
• Develop applications with complex interactive behaviors, such as:
  • Cross-component reactivity and communication
  • Persistent state management

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing advanced Shiny applications from wireframes or design specs.

• Proficiency with custom HTML and CSS styling in Shiny to deliver applications that match Figma/UX specifications.
• Familiarity with bslib and Bootstrap 5, including creating custom modals, waiters, and tooltips.
• Practical experience with JavaScript in the Shiny context:
  • Writing or modifying custom input/output bindings
  • Enhancing reactivity via shinyjs or htmlwidgets
  • Extending Shiny with lightweight JS code where necessary
• Experience using R6 classes for state management and encapsulating business logic.

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer who will be responsible for supporting complex or leading singular projects related to data engineering requirements and initiatives, supporting data projects from across the business, including Clinical, Pre-Clinical, Non-Clinical, Chemistry, RWD, and Omics.
 

Essential Functions

• Support the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines for processing Research and Development data from diverse sources (Clinical Trials, Medical Devices, Pre-Clinical, Omics, Real World Data) utilizing the AWS technology platform.

• Create and optimize ETL/ELT processes for structured and unstructured data using Python, R, SQL, AWS services, and other tools.

• Build and maintain data repositories using AWS S3 and FSx technologies. Establish data warehousing solutions using Amazon Redshift. 

• Build and maintain standard data models.

• Develop data quality frameworks, validation processes and KPIs to ensure accuracy and consistency of data pipelines. 

• Implement data versioning and lineage tracking to support data traceability, regulatory compliance and audit requirements. 

• Create and maintain documentation for data processes, architectures, and workflows. 

• Implement modern software development best practices (e.g. Code Versioning, DevOps, CD/CI). 

• Maintain compliance with data privacy regulations such as HIPAA, GDPR.

• May be required to develop, deliver or support data literacy training across R&D. 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of data engineering tools such as Python, R and SQL for data processing. 

• Strong proficiency with AWS services particularly S3, Redshift, FSx, Glue, Lambda. 

• Strong proficiency with relational databases. 

• Strong background in data modeling and database design. 

• Familiarity with unstructured database technologies (e.g. NoSQL) and other database types (e.g. Graph). 

• Familiarity with Containerization such as Docker and EKS/Kubernetes. 

• Familiarity with one or more R&D research processes and associated regulatory requirements. 

• Exposure to healthcare data standards (CDISC, HL7, FHIR, SNOMED CT, OMOP, DICOM). 

• Exposure to big data technologies and handling. 

• Knowledge of machine learning operations (MLOps) and model deployment. 

• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

We are seeking an experienced AI Data Scientist who will be responsible for supporting the implementation of innovative, complex, and transformative AI/ML/GenAI solutions across the areas of Clinical Trial Execution and Digital Healthcare. 

Essential Functions

• Support the development and implementation of AI/ML/GenAI solutions to optimize clinical trial operations, including such areas as patient recruitment, patient retention, real-time data monitoring, and an automated data collection system build.

• Support the development and implementation of GenAI applications for automated clinical trial documentation generation, including such areas as medical reports, clinical study reports, protocols, and patient narratives.

• Support the development and implementation of Digital Healthcare applications for medical and scientific tools, RWE new ways of generating real data, patients’ engagement.

• Support the design and development of predictive models and generative AI solutions using diverse healthcare data sources, including clinical trials data, electronic health records, wearable devices, patient-reported outcomes, HEOR data, and phase IV studies. 

• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and data privacy standards 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages, with experience in modern ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow).

• Demonstrated experience with generative AI technologies, including LLM architectures and frameworks. 

• Knowledge/experience with digital healthcare tools design and development. 

• Experience with natural language processing and generative AI for medical text analysis, generation, and interpretation. 

• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts. 

• Familiarity with high-compute cloud-based platforms and services, in particular AWS. 

• Familiarity with code version control and MLOps deployment approaches. 

Minimum Requirements

• Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Data Science, Computer Science, Biostatistics, or related field.

• 5+ years of related professional experience, with 2+ years of experience applying AI/ML techniques  (healthcare or clinical research data is a plus). 

• Experience in healthcare/AI implementation in the healthcare field is a plus.
