You will be responsible for designing, testing, and optimizing prompts for existing Large Language Models (LLMs) that process large volumes of text and audio data. 🌐 Full Stack Developer — Automating AI Workflows in Insurance

Summary

We’re building end-to-end automation for AI tasks in the insurance sector. Over the next 10 months, we’ll be prototyping before launching a dedicated spinout. You’ll work closely with our Senior AI CTO (30+ years of combined AI experience across the team) in a fast-paced but supportive environment.

This is a full-time, remote-first role (office available in Berlin). You’ll be expected to make strong use of AI tools to accelerate development and — even more importantly — debug efficiently. Success in this role requires both technical ability and a willingness to dive into the business logic of how insurance actually works.

• Develop and maintain backend services in TypeScript, using frameworks like Mastra, AWS Lambda, and Next.js

A key part of this role is reviewing, analyzing, and improving existing SQL and schema structures in production OLTP systems, as well as building new schemas from scratch based on business requirements.

• Analyze and optimize slow SQL queries in MS SQL Server (joins, subqueries, window functions, etc.).

Your Role
Due to the scaling of our infrastructure and products, we are looking for an experienced DBA who can design, maintain, and evolve resilient, secure, and scalable data storage systems. This role requires close collaboration with development, DevOps, and information security teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain and develop fault-tolerant solutions based on PostgreSQL and MongoDB
• Optimize database performance, including query tuning and indexing
• Set up backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies
• Contribute to data architecture design
• Configure monitoring and logging systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
• Ensure compliance with security standards (PCI DSS, SOX, GDPR)
• Automate database operations using Python/Bash scripts and IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
• Participate in incident investigations
• Collaborate with teams on data schema, migrations, and access controls
Requirements
Must-Have:
• 5+ years of experience administering relational and NoSQL databases
• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL (replication, performance tuning, partitioning)
• Experience with MongoDB (data modeling, aggregation pipelines, backups)
• Hands-on experience with AWS (RDS, Aurora, monitoring, IAM)
• Excellent SQL skills and proficiency in Python or Bash
• Proven track record in building HA and DR solutions for critical systems
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible)
Nice-to-Have:
• Experience with Redis, Cassandra
• Participation in PCI DSS, SOX, or GDPR compliance projects
• Background in fintech or high-load OLTP systems
• Basic understanding of Kubernetes and containerized environments
• Strong drive for continuous learning in database and cloud technologies
• Enthusiasm for exploring new approaches in data management

• Configure, administer, and maintain PostgreSQL servers in production and development environments
• Monitor performance, tune database parameters, and optimize queries
• Perform database backups and restores, plan disaster recovery procedures
• Set up replication (streaming replication, logical replication) and ensure high availability (HA)
• Manage users, roles, and security policies
• Monitor logs (WAL), control data growth, and optimize disk space usage
• Collaborate with the development team to support new features and resolve SQL performance issues
• Automate routine tasks using scripts (Bash, Python, or others)

Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience working with PostgreSQL (administration, tuning, monitoring)
• Deep understanding of PostgreSQL architecture (processes, query planner, indexes, MVCC, VACUUM/ANALYZE)
• Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, pg_stat_statements)
• Proven ability to optimize complex SQL queries and data schemas
