Executive Summary

You will design, develop, and maintain backend and system-level components aligned with approved enterprise architecture, security standards, and governance frameworks. We’re taking ownership of a large, mission-critical enterprise platform currently operated by an external vendor. The system is live and security-sensitive, and we’re modernizing it over time:

• Primary backend stack: C# / .NET (6+), with most new work on .NET 8 (LTS)
• Legacy areas exist: ASP.NET Framework 4.8 and some WCF
• Cloud: Microsoft Azure
• Data: SQL Server primarily, some MySQL
• Frontend exists (React/Angular), but this role is backend/system-level

• Documentation is mixed due to the transition; part of the work is improving clarity as you go.

   

Core Responsibilities

1) Software Development & Implementation

• Develop backend services, APIs, and system components based on approved backlog items and technical designs.
• Translate user stories and functional requirements into scalable solutions.
• Implement business logic following clean architecture and principles.

• Write clean, maintainable, testable, well-documented code.

Responsibilities:

- Assist in the development and maintenance of scalable web applications using .Net technologies.
- Support integrating OpenAI features and Azure Cloud services to enhance system functionality and user experience.
- Help design and implement API endpoints for seamless data exchange between applications and third-party services, including popular messaging platforms like Telegram, Viber, and WhatsApp.
- Collaborate with the product team to understand user requirements and translate them into functional software solutions.
- Contribute innovative ideas and propose alternative solutions to improve product performance and address technical challenges.
- Stay updated on the latest technology trends, industry standards, and emerging tools.

Requirements:

- Basic understanding of the .Net framework and C# programming (academic or self-taught experience is acceptable).
- Familiarity with the concept of API development and integration with third-party services (hands-on experience is a plus but not required).
Basic knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

The client is a global technology-enabled services company dedicated to advancing the world of veterinary medicine and empowering veterinary practices. They are bringing together products, services, and technology into a single platform that connects the customers to the solutions and insights they need to work best. There are a set of long-standing veterinary software systems, with more than 20,000 veterinary practices in the U.S., Canada, UK/Europe, and Australia.

The project is a Next-generation Cloud platform that emerges from all existing software systems to provide a truly global open platform.

- Technical Solution

GL team works on the migration of the existing legacy system approaching rebuild strategy and develops a completely new solution for practice management and operations including microservices, Front-end and integration layers.

Event-driven approaching Microservices implementation.

Integration with existing customer’s systems and services.

Strangling of the existing legacy system which is a subject of migration.

Large scale project with several development teams across several geographies.
