Fully Remote Β· SaaS Β· Cloud

Pics.io is a fast-growing SaaS platform helping companies manage, search, and collaborate on large volumes of digital media. We process millions of files and power web, mobile, and plugin-based workflows for teams around the world.

We ship fast, test rigorously, and invest heavily in automation, reliability, and smooth engineering processes.

    What We Build

    Our ecosystem includes:

    - A large React-based web application used daily by thousands of users

    - Mobile clients and integrations for Adobe, Google Workspace, Shopify, Zoho, WordPress, and more

    - A Node.js backend powering our public API

    - MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and cloud-native services on AWS & GCP

    - A CI/CD pipeline that deploys multiple times per day

    - A growing suite of internal tools and automations supporting quality and releases

We value stability, observability, consistency, and smart automation. Quality is a shared responsibility across the team.

    What You’ll Work On

As a QA Engineer, you’ll ensure that users receive updates frequently, safely, and without regressions. You’ll work closely with developers, product managers, and designers throughout the entire development lifecycle.

    Examples of challenges you’ll tackle:

    - Exploring web and mobile-adapted UI flows to identify issues

    - Writing, maintaining, and organising test cases in QASE

    - Planning and coordinating releases across multiple teams

    - Automating test scenarios using Puppeteer + JavaScript

    - Validating API behaviour, client–server interactions, networking, and performance

    - Stress-testing complex media workflows (uploading, previewing, transcoding, streaming)

    - Ensuring that Pics.io behaves consistently across browsers, devices, and environments

Expect a mix of manual testing, automation, release ownership, and cross-team collaboration.

    Who You Are

You’re a QA Engineer who enjoys exploring systems, finding edge cases, and ensuring products behave predictably for thousands of users. You understand how the web works and are comfortable communicating with engineers.

We’d love to hear from you if you have experience with:

    - Functional, UI, regression, performance, and other testing types

    - Testing web applications and responsive/mobile layouts

    - Understanding how modern web apps work (AJAX, API, HTTP, CDN, HTML/CSS, caching, etc.)

    - Creating and maintaining structured test cases in tools like QASE, TestRail, or similar

Bonus points if you have experience with:

    - Working in a product-focused team

    - Test automation using JavaScript (Puppeteer, Playwright, Cypress, etc.)

    - Testing mobile apps

    - Security or performance testing

    - Media processing or video-streaming environments

Curiosity, independence, and attention to detail matter more than ticking every box.

    How We Work

We are a senior-leaning distributed team that values high-quality releases, clear communication, and reliable processes. You’ll have autonomy in organising your work, freedom to propose improvements, and full access to the product team. We support continuous learning through paid tools, courses, conferences, and books. Remote work is fully supportedβ€”your location doesn’t matter as long as communication is smooth and consistent.

    Test Assignment

To proceed to the interview stage, please complete a practical assignment.

    Your task:

Create an ultimate testing plan for the Pics.io video player that covers as many testing aspects and contexts as possible.

We want to see your approach, structure, creativity, and how you think about qualityβ€”not exhaustive step-by-step descriptions.

    Your plan should cover:

    - What and how to test

    - Core vs. secondary scenarios

    - Environments, conditions, and edge cases

    - Which areas to automate and why

    - Tools you would use

    - Metrics and benchmarks to track

    - How you would present results and insights

Feel free to use any format you like: Google Docs, QASE, TestRail, Notion, UIPath, etc.

Register at Pics.io, explore the video player, and design your testing approach freelyβ€”there are no deadlines or time limits.

If you can, feel free to automate a couple of scenarios to demonstrate your skills.

Send us a link to your plan once you’re ready.
