Jobs Java

We are looking for a Mid/Senior Java Backend Engineer to join the insurance division of a large Polish software company. This is a backend-first role: you will build high-performance services and integrations with external providers for in-house platforms used by insurers in Poland and abroad. The platforms cover the full policy lifecycle and claims handling and process millions of operations every month. You will work in an international team with colleagues from Scandinavia, Belgium and Poland, on modules such as financial settlement, accounting, investment funds and claims. The team works in a Spec Driven Development model with AI agents, using them for specs, planning, documentation and tests. Over time, you may also pick up Angular tasks as the project needs, so openness to frontend work is important.

Details:

• Schedule: Full time
• Location: Hybrid – Kraków, Gdańsk, Łódź or Poznań, Poland (3 days in the office, 2 remote; more office time during onboarding, up to 3 months)
• Start: ASAP
• Duration: Long-term
• English: Upper-Intermediate (B2)
• Polish: Elementary (B2) or higher
• Type of collaboration: Internal Employment (UoP) or B2B Contract – your choice

About the project:
The company is one of the largest software vendors in Poland. Its insurance division builds its own platforms for insurance companies in Poland and other European markets. These systems support the whole policy lifecycle, from product setup and sales to policy servicing and claims processing. They handle millions of operations a month, so performance, reliability and data accuracy really matter. The division is growing fast and is adding engineering teams in several Polish cities. Teams are international and work closely with business analysts and insurance domain experts. Engineering is moving toward structured, AI-assisted development, where AI agents support specs, planning, documentation and testing.

You have:

• 4+ years of commercial software development experience
• Strong commercial experience with Java and Spring Boot in production systems (experience limited to CMS/AEM or legacy J2EE is not a fit)
• Experience building high-performance REST APIs
• Experience building integrations with external providers and third-party systems
• Experience with MongoDB and/or PostgreSQL
• Openness to learning Angular and taking on frontend tasks over time
• Structured use of AI tools in development (specs, planning, tests), not only autocomplete
• Polish at A2 level or higher (everyday conversation), as some teams work in Polish
• English at B2 level (team communication and technical documentation)
• Legal right to work in Poland (e.g. Karta Pobytu, permanent residence or EU citizenship)
• Readiness to work from the office in Kraków, Gdańsk, Łódź or Poznań 3 days a week

Nice to have:

• Experience in the insurance, banking or fintech domain
• Experience with microservices, event-driven architecture (Kafka), sagas or DDD
• Any hands-on experience with Angular or TypeScript

What to do:

• Design, build and maintain backend services in Java and Spring Boot for insurance platforms
• Build high-performance REST APIs and integrations with external providers
• Work with MongoDB and PostgreSQL databases
• Work on business modules such as financial settlement, accounting, investment funds and claims
• Use AI agents in a Spec Driven Development process to write specs, plan work, document solutions and create tests
• Collaborate with an international team (Scandinavia, Belgium, Poland), business analysts and domain experts
• Take part in code reviews and architecture discussions
• Pick up Angular frontend tasks when the project needs them

Senior ColdFusion Developer

We are looking for a Senior ColdFusion Developer to help keep an established e-commerce marketplace reliable and running smoothly. The platform serves buyers and sellers and connects with external business systems. Your focus will be production support, backend maintenance, and essential integrations as the platform evolves.

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years of production experience with ColdFusion and/or Lucee.
• Strong MySQL skills and confidence working with complex databases.
• Practical AWS experience, including infrastructure monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Experience building and maintaining REST APIs and third-party integrations.
• Ability to navigate an existing codebase, investigate issues, and deliver reliable fixes independently.
• Clear communication and a willingness to document technical decisions and system behavior.

Experience with e-commerce, payment workflows, ERP integrations, or marketplace platforms would be an advantage.

Your day-to-day work

You’ll investigate application and integration issues, fix bugs, and improve the stability of the existing platform. You’ll also support AWS operations, maintain connections with external services, and implement selected changes needed for business continuity.

The work combines hands-on development with production troubleshooting and collaboration on technical priorities. Keeping documentation up to date and sharing system knowledge are part of the role.

We are looking to connect with senior Java developers for upcoming client projects and potential long-term collaboration.

What you will do

• Design and build backend services with Java and Spring Boot
• Integrate AI services (RAG, agents) into existing enterprise applications via REST, messaging and events
• Work with legacy systems: understand, refactor and extend them safely
• Design APIs, data models and integration flows

• Deploy on Kubernetes together with our DevOps engineers

Must have

• 5+ years of professional Java development, at least 3 years with Spring Boot
• Experience with enterprise integration: REST, Kafka or RabbitMQ, relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle or similar)
• Docker and basic Kubernetes
• English at B2 level or higher

• Working hours overlapping with UTC+0 to UTC+4

Nice to have

• Experience integrating LLMs or AI services into Java applications (e.g. Spring AI, LangChain4j)
• Security standards: OAuth2, Keycloak, SSO

• German language skills

What we offer

• Challenging projects at the intersection of enterprise systems and AI
• Opportunities to work with modern technologies and solve real-world engineering problems
• Long-term collaboration opportunities
• Fully remote work

• A small, experienced team that values engineering quality
