Team Summary

We are a distributed team that develops motion detection features for both Cloud and Edge environments, ensuring high performance and adaptability for diverse deployment needs. You can choose to focus on either Edge or Cloud solutions. Those interested in Edge will work on advanced computer vision algorithms and sensor-based detection methods to enable efficient real-time performance directly on devices. Those focusing on Cloud will develop scalable, high-performance motion detection solutions using cloud-based technologies, optimizing collaboration between Edge and Cloud for the best results.

You will be responsible for day-to-day research tasks, such as setting up hypotheses, gathering data for experiments, training and validating ML models, validating results, and writing a paper on your results.

Responsibilities and Duties

— Develop innovative machine learning algorithms. Implement advanced methods and technologies in model development

— Analyze large datasets to identify correlations and patterns. Visualize research results for clearer interpretation

— Tune hyperparameters and optimize algorithms. Improve models to enhance their performance and accuracy

— Explore and evaluate new technologies in the field of machine learning. Implement cutting-edge ideas and techniques into production processes

Qualifications and Skills

— 3+ years in machine learning (computer vision domain)

— Practical experience in at least one of the following problems: classification, detection, segmentation

— Python3, NumPy, scikit-learn, pandas, SciPy

— Deep learning frameworks: PyTorch

— Experience in deploying machine learning models to production

— Good understanding of machine learning and deep learning concepts

— Good written and spoken English

Requirements.
● 4+ years of hands-on experience in computer vision, with a strong focus on embedded/edge device optimization;
● Deep knowledge of CNN-based object detection and face detection techniques;
● Expertise in model compression, quantization, and acceleration for embedded inference;
● Strong Python and C++ development skills;
● Experience with deployment tools: TensorRT, ONNX Runtime, TFLite, OpenVINO, or CoreML;
● Familiarity with embedded platforms (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson, Qualcomm Snapdragon, Raspberry Pi with Coral Edge TPU);
● Experience in profiling and optimizing models for latency, throughput, and memory efficiency.

● Communication: Lead as part of a scrum team focused on delivering production-ready, optimized computer vision models. Promote clear, respectful, and constructive communication;

Model Development and Optimization:
● Design and optimize CNN-based object detection and face detection models;
● Implement advanced model optimization techniques, including pruning, quantization, and knowledge distillation;
● Develop models with a focus on efficient deployment on embedded or edge devices.

 Embedded Deployment:
● Use tools like TensorRT, ONNX Runtime, TFLite, OpenVINO, or CoreML for deployment;
● Work with embedded hardware platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson, Qualcomm Snapdragon,
and Raspberry Pi with Coral Edge TPU.

Performance Profiling:
● Profile models for latency, throughput, and memory efficiency;
● Optimize the inference performance to meet strict resource and timing constraints on target devices.

Development Skills:
● Develop and maintain codebases in Python and C++ to support model integration and deployment pipelines.

Spendbase is looking for a curious, technically minded AI Intern to help us integrate AI into our internal workflows. You’ll work directly with the founding team to identify, test, and deploy AI-powered automations that enhance how we operate across customer success, sales, product, and operations.
 

This is an ideal role for someone who’s been actively learning and building in the AI space over the past year — possibly a student or early-career engineer — and is ready to apply their skills in a fast-moving startup environment.
 

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Research and prototype AI use cases across company departments
• Build and connect tools using GPT APIs, open-source models, and automation platforms
• Automate workflows with Zapier, N8N, Make (Integromat), etc.

Role Description
We’re hiring a Backend & MLOps Engineer to own the Node.js backend and Python-based ML infrastructure that powers multiple consumer apps. You’ll operate across AWS Amplify/AppSync, Firebase, and on-prem GPUs, ensuring our services remain reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient. We are open to remote for this role and have teams in both the US and Europe.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Develop, deploy, and maintain backend APIs on AWS Amplify & AppSync (GraphQL) or GCP (Firebase)
• Manage Docker-based Python CV/LLM inference pipelines, primarily on on-prem GPUs
• Prototype rapid fixes or features, then harden them into production-grade systems
• Collaborate with the product and the iOS team to deliver new endpoints and incremental features while meeting reliability and cost targets
• Streamline and automate routine tasks with scripts and modern AI tooling
• Maintain data pulls and pipelines – schedule and automate extracts from BigQuery, DynamoDB for analytics and reporting

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years in backend engineering, DevOps, or MLOps
• Strong proficiency in Python and solid Node.js/TypeScript skills
• Hands-on experience with core AWS services; comfortable with GCP/Firebase basics
