About the Role
We're looking for a technically strong Senior QA Engineer who combines solid manual testing expertise with hands-on test automation skills. You'll own quality across ElevateOS: our resident mobile app, property management web platform, APIs and smart home integrations.

We believe that with today's AI tools, a technically skilled QA engineer can build and scale automated end-to-end coverage much faster than before, and that's exactly what we need you to do.

How you'll start

• Onboard to the product and team
• Test 1-2 epics manually to learn the domain and key user flows
• Move on to designing and building automated E2E test scenarios, keeping manual testing focused and efficient so automation keeps moving

What technologies do we use?

Our primary technology stack revolves around JS. We use React for Front-end, Node.js for Backend and React Native for mobile development. All of our projects run on TypeScript, built by Docker and tested with Jest and react-testing-library.

What skills are essential to us?

• 4+ years in QA, at least 2 of them at a senior level
• Strong manual testing skills: web, mobile, API and requirements testing
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining automated E2E tests (Playwright, Cypress, WebdriverIO or similar)
• Working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript: you can read, write and debug test code
• Active use of AI tools (e.g. Claude, Copilot, Cursor) to generate, refactor and maintain test cases and automation code
• Solid knowledge of testing methodologies and test design techniques
• Experience with API testing tools (Postman or similar), browser DevTools and Git
• Clear test documentation and bug reports

Requirements:
— 5+ years in web/backend product QA, including 2+ years owning one product’s quality across several release cycles at a product company.
— 1+ year leading a team of 3+ engineers: planning, process, metrics, reviews, hiring.
— Hands-on automation in Java, TypeScript or Python; our stack: Java (TestNG, REST Assured, Testcontainers), Selenium or Playwright for Angular.
— Deep API testing: REST, authentication (JWT, OAuth2, API keys), multi-user and multi-tenant scenarios; understanding of WebSocket.
— Service-to-service integration testing: queues/brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ or MQTT), webhooks, Docker environments, automated tests in CI.
— Test design and release discipline: parameterized cases, traceability to issues, regression exit criteria, upgrade-path verification.
— Understanding of load testing (Gatling, k6, JMeter, protocol simulators) and reading metrics (Prometheus/Grafana).
— Technical degree: computer science, software/computer engineering, cybersecurity, electronics, telecommunications, automation, applied mathematics, physics.
— English B2+ (docs, customers, community), fluent Ukrainian; work from our Kyiv office (Podil), flexible hours.

Responsibilities:
Strategy and people

• Shape the quality strategy for the ecosystem products — ThingsBoard On-premises, Cloud, Private Cloud, Edge, TBMQ broker and IoT Gateway: test levels, deployment matrix, release readiness criteria.
• Lead the team: planning, test-code and test-case reviews, mentoring, hiring.
• Own the metrics: escaped defects, regression cycle time, automation coverage, flaky rate; decide what needs QA and what doesn’t.

Automation (hands-on)

• Build a QA-owned automation layer over the TeamCity black-box pipeline: API, WebSocket, integration scenarios with simulators and brokers (Testcontainers, Docker Compose).
• Grow Angular UI automation: extend the Selenium/Page Object layer or make the case for Playwright.
• Raise test documentation: parameterized cases, priorities, traceability to Jira.

Releases and regression

• Run regression for two LTS lines and patches, post-release checks on Cloud in both regions, install/upgrade and security patch (CVE) verification.
• Test transports, integrations and data processing: MQTT (incl. Sparkplug), CoAP, LwM2M, HTTP, SNMP, OPC-UA; LoRaWAN network servers (ChirpStack, The Things Stack, Loriot, ThingPark); cloud and broker integrations (AWS IoT, Azure IoT Hub, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub, Pulsar); data converters, Rule Engine, Calculated Fields, Alarm Rules.
• Triage community (GitHub Issues) and customer bugs with Support and CSM; close tenant-isolation, RBAC, SSO/2FA and load risks.

Adjacent: mobile app (Flutter, iOS/Android), about 7% of test cases — you organize its testing, not run it by hand.

Nice to have

• IoT/embedded: MQTT, CoAP, LwM2M, LoRaWAN, OPC-UA, Modbus; real devices, OTA, simulators, IoT platforms.
• Security testing: OWASP API Top 10, tenant isolation, RBAC/SSO/2FA.
• Kubernetes; PostgreSQL, Cassandra or TimescaleDB, Redis/Valkey.
• AI tools for test generation and failure analysis; mobile testing (Appium, Flutter integration tests).
• Open-source contributions or community experience (GitHub Issues).

About the Role:

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented QA Engineer ( located in Europe) for a fintech project who can own the full testing lifecycle. This role is ideal for a specialist who is comfortable working independently, collaborating with developers and product teams, and ensuring high product quality from requirements to release, with hands-on commercial experience in Cypress test automation and API testing.

Responsibilities:

• Perform full-cycle testing: from requirements analysis to release validation;
• Design, write, and maintain test documentation (test cases, checklists, test plans);

We are looking for a senior automation QA engineer to own automated testing across our web and mobile products, and to raise the engineering quality bar across the team.

The split is roughly 70 / 30:

• 70% test automation - Playwright (web) and Maestro (mobile) suites, API and integration tests, test data and environments, CI quality gates, turning production failures into permanent checks.
• 30% product engineering - you write real code in the same repos the team ships from: unit and integration tests next to the developers, internal tooling, and small to medium features or bug fixes.

This is not a manual QA role, and not script-writing in isolation. We are looking for an engineer who happens to specialise in quality: someone who can pick up a feature ticket, implement it with tests, and pass code review.

Test automation and quality engineering (~70%)

• Own the Playwright and Maestro end-to-end suites: fast, stable, parallelised, and honest about why a test failed.
• Design the automation strategy across the pyramid instead of pushing everything to the UI layer.
• Build API and integration coverage for Node.js / Express services, including auth, error paths, and data consistency.
• Own test data and environments: fixtures, factories, seeding, resets, and isolation between runs.
• Maintain quality gates in GitHub Actions, with useful artifacts: traces, videos, screenshots, logs.
• Treat flakiness as a first-class task: find root causes, fix waits and race conditions, track suite reliability as a metric rather than adding retries.
• Build reusable automation infrastructure: abstractions, custom fixtures, mocks, service virtualisation, shared helpers.
• Turn every escaped bug or production incident into a regression test.
• Report quality clearly: what is covered, what is failing and why, and what it means for a release decision.
• Join design and refinement early, so features are testable before they are built.
• Run targeted exploratory testing where automation is not yet the right tool.

Product engineering and feature work (~30%)

• Write unit and integration tests for production code in Jest or Vitest - real assertions and edge cases, not coverage padding.
• Implement small to medium features and bug fixes in Node.js, React, or React Native, to the same review standards as the rest of the team.
• Refactor for testability: break up tightly coupled code and introduce seams without changing behaviour.
• Review other engineers' code with specific, actionable feedback on test quality, error handling, and failure modes.
• Build internal tooling that shortens the team's feedback loop: scripts, CLI utilities, dashboards, mock services.
• Coach engineers on testing, error handling, retries, idempotency, and failure isolation, so quality is not owned by one person.
• Help troubleshoot production issues: read logs and traces, reproduce, drive to resolution. Occasional incidents outside working hours.

What we're looking for

• 4+ years in test automation, SDET, or software engineering, owning automated testing for a production web or mobile product.
• Strong JavaScript and TypeScript: typed, maintainable code, and a solid grasp of async behaviour, promises, and timing issues.
• Software engineering fundamentals: Git workflows, code review, debugging, design patterns, SOLID, and how HTTP, REST, auth, and async systems actually work.
• Unit and integration testing, not only end-to-end: mocking, test doubles, fixtures and factories, parameterised tests, and knowing when a unit test is the wrong tool.
• Owning a Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent suite at scale, including parallel execution and flakiness reduction.
• REST API testing: tooling, contract or schema validation, negative and edge cases.
• Reading and contributing to a production Node.js and React codebase: navigate unfamiliar code, trace a bug to its source, ship a fix with tests.
• Working SQL and PostgreSQL: query and verify data, understand schemas and migrations, use the database to set up and assert test state.
• Building CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions or equivalent: caching, parallel jobs, artifacts, and keeping pipeline time under control.
• Debugging across frontend, backend, database, and infrastructure.
• Clear async written communication: bug reports and test results people can act on without a meeting.

AI-assisted engineering (required)

We build AI features and use AI tooling daily. You do not need to be an ML engineer, but you should already work this way:

• Daily use of frontier models and agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) for tests, fixtures, refactoring, and code investigation.
• A repeatable way of giving agents context - instruction files, tool definitions, MCP servers, subagent roles - and the judgement to review output instead of merging it blindly.
• Understanding that AI-driven features cannot be validated by conventional assertions alone, and willingness to grow into evaluation work: golden datasets, scoring, regression gates.
• A practical sense of token spend and wall-clock time per unit of delivered work.

We are looking for an experienced QA Automation Engineer to help design and build test automation for our content management platform. This is a hands-on role for someone who can both architect an automation strategy and write the scripts themselves, while also leveraging AI tools and third-party utilities to accelerate testing efforts.

Hourly based, will begin as part time but might grow to full time.

Team is working in Toronto time zone, so part of the workday will have to be shifted.

Our client is looking for a talented Automation QA Engineer to join their US-based team for at least 6 months. This person will be responsible for building the automation testing environment from scratch, automating regression tests, and training the manual team to write regression tests.

About the role

We’re looking for a Senior QA Engineer on a part-time basis for a long-term engagement with a US startup. The product is an iOS app that works together with a physical device and uses AI. The company is pre-launch.

You’ll be the only QA on the project. That means full ownership of quality: you decide what gets tested and how, you build the process from the ground up, and you work in close contact with the startup’s technical team.

This is not a role for executing someone else’s test cases. If you need an established process to slot into, this isn’t the position.

Schedule - please read carefully

The team is based in San Francisco, a 10-hour time difference. Because of that:

• Working hours shift into the evening - roughly until 9-10 PM Kyiv time

• Calls with the team two to three times per week at the start, one to two later on

• Everything else is async, you plan your own day

• Evening availability on agreed days is mandatory and not open for renegotiation after you start

If evening hours don’t work for you, it’s better not to spend time applying.

Building processes from scratch

• Experience joining a project with no QA in place and building everything yourself
