We are currently looking for a Big Data Delivery Manager

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Own end-to-end solution delivery on the assigned account(s)

• For the top management and client - act as a single point of responsibility over any delivery related matters, including escalations, upsells, ramp-downs, etc

• Accountable for the technical leadership regarding the delivery. Ensuring a sound and future-proof architecture is planned and the implementation meets the technical quality standards

• Coordinate between multiple disciplines, stakeholders

• Establish and manage long-term partnerships with the client(s)

• Address client(s) issues and identify and manage engagement risks

• Make sure that the customer executes their responsibilities on the engagements

• Build up delivery plan along with estimations on timeframes, quality and quantity of resources required to successfully deliver projects

• Establish a strategy of continuous delivery risk management that enables proactive decisions and actions throughout the delivery life cycle

• Support sales activities; participate in bid process, provide technical and management expertise to win bids

• Actively contribute in EPAM-wide delivery management community

REQUIREMENTS

• Practical experience in delivering projects in Data and Analytics, Big Data, Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence. Familiar with relevant technological solutions, industry best practices

• Good understanding of data engineering challenges and proven experience with data platform engineering (batch and streaming, ingestion, storage, processing, management, integration, consumption)

• At least 5 years of experience in gathering and understanding customer business requirements to introduce Big Data technologies

• Familiar with multiple Big Data technology stacks (e.g. Hadoop, Yarn, HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Spark, Kafka, etc)

• Experience with data visualization, aware of various tools, technologies

• Good understanding of classical analytics methods; including relevant theories

• Good understanding of various delivery approaches, well versed in agile

• High degree of comfort to present both to large or small audiences

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-moving environment

Responsibilities:

Working Experience Requirements:

• Min 2 years of active project management and/or 3 finished COMMERCIAL projects of the man-efforts size not less than 2000 mh

• Was a project delivery responsible person at least in 1 COMMERCIAL project (first in line in the project delivery process)

The Required Primary List of Hard Skills for the Project Manager Position:

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).

• Strong analytical and abstract thinking skills, with the ability to decompose complex topics, group related elements, and navigate between technical and business perspectives.

• Ability to plan and scope delivery increments, ensuring completeness and alignment with product value expectations.

• Knowing and understanding SDLC (Software Development Life-Cycle);

• Knowledge and experience in project cost management;

• Knowledge and experience in project schedule management;

• Knowledge of quality management and cost of quality principles in the projects;

• Knowledge in the bug management process. Experienced in bug-tracking and task management systems (Redmine, JIRA, and so on);

• B2 (CEFR) or Upper-Intermediate+ level of spoken and written English.

A Required Secondary List of Skills:

• Experience with radio jammers, whether through basic familiarity with the domain or direct project leadership, is considered a plus;

• Understanding HDLC (Hardware Development Life-Cycle);

• Internationally recognized certification in project management;

• Experience as a business analyst;

• Experience as an electronic engineer;

OR

• Experience as a software developer;

OR

• Experience as a quality assurance/control engineer;

• Knowledge of major features of version control systems (check-out, check-in, merging, branching, versions). Experience in version system controls (Git, SVN, SourceSafe, ClearCase, and so on);

Required General Skills:

• Strong leadership skills, practitioner of various leadership styles;

• Is a team member and is committed to the project goals. Ability to establish team collaboration and facilitate communication among team members;
