You will be responsible for designing robust and production-ready enclosures and mechanical components for electronic products used in industrial and defense applications. You’ll be part of a broader development team that includes hardware engineers and a product owner, and will closely cooperate with prototyping & production suppliers.
Your Role
· Design and develop mechanical enclosures and auxiliary parts for electronic systems.
· Ensure designs meet EU certification standards (CE, EMC, IP, etc.).
· Deliver high-quality, manufacturable designs suitable for serial production.
· Suggest proper prototyping strategies for designs to meet feature, cost and time constraints.
· Optimize designs for development speed and for quality depending on the need.
· Collaborate with electrical, firmware, and test engineers to ensure optimal system integration.
· Select materials and finishes for environmental and mechanical durability.
· Participate in design reviews and prototype validation.
· Build & improve mechanical design processes in the organization.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering field.
· At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design for electronics or electromechanical systems.
· Proficiency with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AD Fusion, Creo, Siemens NX or similar).
· Experience in stress-testing methods for design strength (Vibration, HALT, impact tests)
· Basic understanding of heat science.
· Knowing fast prototyping technologies (FDM, SLA, SLS, silicone molding, Alu molding).
· Knowledge of common manufacturing methods for mechanics in the electronic domain (plastics machining & molding, metal fabrication and coating methods, PCB potting).
· Understanding of EU legislation requirements towards material selection.
· Excellent understanding of quality and documentation standards for production.
· Strong teamwork and communication skills and ability to work with a wide network of suppliers
Nice to Have
· Proven experience delivering EU-compliant, production-grade designs (CE, RoHS, EMC).Experience in producing ISO-compliant documentation.
· Experience with ruggedized or military-grade product design (IP67+, MIL-STD-810).
· Knowledge of simulation tools for structural or thermal analysis.
· Familiarity with DFM, DFMEA, and design validation testing.
· Hands-on experience with prototyping and assembly.
· Available network of prototyping and manufacturing suppliers for mechanics.
