    Founding Backend Engineer

This is the beating heart of wring.co. If this seat is empty:

    • We can’t ship product at the speed early customers expect.
    • There is no technical owner to set the bar for code quality, reliability, and velocity.
    • We won’t have the foundation of a culture that values both rigorous engineering and pragmatic execution.

This role is the difference between a promising idea and a real business.

The Kind of Person We’re Not Looking For

Let’s be direct - if you:

    • Need a lot of hand-holding before you start building.
    • Prefer long planning cycles over quick iterations and learning by shipping.
    • Feel uncomfortable making decisions with imperfect information.
    • See your role as strictly “writing code,” not engaging with customers, recruiting, or thinking about the business.
    • Clock in at 9 and out at 5 without caring whether the mission moves forward.

This isn’t going to be a fit. We want someone who:

    • Thrives in ambiguity and moves fast.
    • Spots problems and owns solutions end-to-end.
    • Has a startup mindset: bias for action, curiosity, and a sense of urgency.

    Core Responsibilities

    Own the Backend Architecture

    • Design, build, and maintain the APIs, data pipelines, and infrastructure.
    • Make foundational decisions about how we scale and secure our systems.

Build and Lead the Engineering Team

    • Recruit, onboard, and mentor the team.
    • Define backend development standards and practices.

    Collaborate Directly with Customers

    • Join implementation calls, understand real-world workflows, and translate them into backend solutions.

    Success Metrics

    • Fast, Reliable Shipping
      • Consistently deliver backend features and improvements on aggressive timelines - without compromising stability.
    • Clear, Usable Documentation
      • Create internal and customer-facing API docs that are always clear and up-to-date.
    • Technical Ownership
      • The backend is stable, performant, and evolves rapidly - because you own it.

    Our Stack (So Far)

    • React (TypeScript) & Node.js (NestJS)
    • PostgreSQL
    • AWS

This is not set in stone. You’ll have the mandate to evolve it.

    Location & Flexibility

    • We are based in South Germany.
    • Hybrid or remote-friendly within CET ±3 hours.

    Why Join Now?

    • We’re seeing strong demand from 40+ customers
    • Cloud cost optimization is a $10B+ problem waiting for better tools.
    • You will shape both product and culture from day one.

    What We Value

    • Candor over politics.
    • Bias for action over endless planning.
    • Ownership over excuses.

    Application Process

    • We keep it simple:
      • Intro conversation.
      • Technical deep dive.
      • Paid trial project (optional) to ensure mutual fit.

We have a request from our client in the USA. The customer is looking for a BE Developer with 5+ years of commercial experience.
The client is a U.S.-based digital marketing company that owns and operates a network of 65+ content-driven websites across verticals like sleep, home, auto, legal, and health. Their core focus is organic traffic acquisition (primarily through SEO) and monetization via affiliate partnerships and performance-based advertising. Projects cover the full lifecycle — from content creation and optimization to A/B testing, user behavior tracking, and advertiser integrations.

    Requirements for covering scope:
    - We're looking for a developer to build a ZIP Allocation API that ingests and enriches U.S. Census ZIP-level data (population, income, urban/rural indicators), applies custom provider allocation logic based on predefined percentages, and outputs validated ZIP-to-partner assignments.
    - The solution should include randomization logic, automated QA checks, and manual override capabilities.
    - Experience working with public datasets, data transformation, REST APIs, and allocation algorithms is required.
    - Familiarity with statistical validation, geo data structures, and ZIP-level segmentation is a plus.
    - The developer will be responsible for designing data workflows, implementing the allocation engine, and supporting potential integrations or dashboard views.

    We offer:

    • Cooperation with a stable company with well-established processes and a positive atmosphere
    • Experience in project management of different levels of complexity, methodology, and approaches
    • Flexible schedule: Mon-Fri (8 hours a day)
    • 18 days of paid vacation; 15 days sick leave
    • A decent level of remuneration with regular reviews of the results of cooperation
    • Extensive loyalty program
