    Key Responsibilities

    • Architect & Build: Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices using NestJS (TypeScript).
    • Database Optimization: Manage complex data modeling and query optimization for high-load environments using PostgreSQL and ClickHouse.
    • Event-Driven Systems: Implement and manage event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka to ensure reliable data streaming and service decoupling.
    • API Management: Design and document RESTful APIs using the OpenAPI (Swagger) specification, ensuring contract-first development and seamless frontend integration.
    • Real-time & Auth: Leverage Supabase for real-time subscriptions, authentication flows, or rapid prototyping where applicable.
    • Code Quality: Enforce code standards through rigorous code reviews, automated testing (Jest/Supertest), and CI/CD pipelines.
    • Mentorship: Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of engineering excellence.

    Technical Requirements

    • NestJS Expert: 5+ years of backend development experience, with deep expertise in NestJS and the Node.js ecosystem.
    • Relational Data: Advanced proficiency with PostgreSQL, including optimization, indexing, and raw SQL queries.
    • Big Data Analytics: Production experience with ClickHouse for analytical processing and handling large datasets.
    • Event Streaming: Strong experience with Apache Kafka (producers, consumers, partition strategies, and schema registries).
    • Microservices: Proven track record of decomposing monoliths or building microservices from scratch (gRPC, RabbitMQ, knowledge is a plus).
    • API Standards: Mastery of OpenAPI/Swagger tools to generate clients and documentation automatically.
    • Supabase: Experience integrating Supabase (PostgREST, Realtime, or Auth) into a custom backend architecture.
    • Testing: Strong belief in TDD/BDD, with proficiency in writing unit and integration tests.

    • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
    • Knowledge of Redis for caching strategies.

    About the Role

    We’re looking for a Platform Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to establish the DevOps foundation at DualEntry. As the first member of this new team, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing our internal platform, scaling infrastructure, and setting the standards for reliability and automation across the organization.

     

    We’re seeking someone with solid AWS experience, strong problem-solving skills, and a pragmatic approach to DevOps, a builder who thrives on making systems reliable, scalable, and efficient.


     

    What You’ll Do

    • Lead the initial setup of our DevOps and platform engineering practices, defining standards, tooling, and infrastructure strategy.
    • Design and deliver an internal platform for personal or feature environments to empower developers and improve velocity.
    • Build and maintain AWS-based infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security.
    • Develop CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments and automate release processes.
    • Implement observability tooling (logging, monitoring, alerting) to detect and resolve issues proactively.
    • Collaborate closely with developers to identify bottlenecks, improve delivery, and enhance system reliability.
    • Ensure high availability and uptime through effective monitoring, incident response, and recovery strategies.
    • Promote infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code best practices.
    • Document systems, configurations, and incident processes for team-wide clarity and consistency.
    • Participate in on-call rotations or coordinate time zone coverage to ensure 24-hour reliability across regions.

     

    What We’re Looking For

    • 10 years of overall experience, or at least 5 years of strong AWS-focused engineering experience.
    • Deep understanding of AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, IAM, networking, etc.).
    • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
    • Strong background in CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar).
    • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and modern deployment workflows.
    • Experience implementing monitoring and observability solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.).
    • Comfortable working independently to build new systems and processes from the ground up.
    • Time zone flexibility to support partial 24-hour coverage is preferred.

    • Own key performance metrics (revenue, conversion rate, AOV, ROAS)
    • Continuously optimize shop performance based on data and trends
