Experience

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Shopify Developer to join our development team in Lisbon. You will be an essential part of our strategy to grow our business with B2B projects on Shopify Plus. 

You will be developing, maintaining, and optimizing our clients' projects on Shopify and Shopify Plus. This role requires a strong blend of front-end development expertise, deep knowledge of the Shopify ecosystem, and a commitment to performance and code quality. 

Our ambition is to find a candidate who will set the standards of this role and be a key piece in a growing Shopify development team. 

Key Responsibilities: 

-Design, develop, and maintain custom Shopify themes and functionality using Liquid, HTML, CSS (Sass/SCSS), and JavaScript. 

-Continuously optimize site speed, mobile responsiveness, and overall site performance to meet Core Web Vitals and enhance SEO. 

-Integrate and manage third-party apps, APIs, and services (e.g., ERP, payment gateways, marketing tools) to extend store capabilities. 

-Work closely with our UI/UX designers and marketing team to translate design mockups and business requirements into flawless, user-friendly features. 

-Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues, bugs, and platform-related problems across all areas of the e-commerce platform. 

-Uphold coding standards, participate in code reviews, and maintain clean, well-documented, and scalable codebases using Git for version control. 

-Stay current with Shopify platform updates, e-commerce best practices, and emerging web technologies to recommend and implement innovative solutions.

About the team:

You will initially be part of a team of 8 Shopify developers. The plan going forward is to divide the team into two teams, where the plan is for you to take a Lead role in one team.

Must-haves:

-You have a strong understanding of the Shopify ecosystem. 

-You have the ability to guide and mentor other developers, sharing your knowledge and best practices. 

-Experience: 6+ years of proven experience as a Shopify Developer, specifically working on high-volume e-commerce stores. 

-Experience with Shopify Plus and custom checkout/scripts. 

-Experience developing and maintaining private or public Shopify Apps. -Expert proficiency with the Shopify platform, including the Admin interface, theme structure, and key objects/APIs. 

-Strong, demonstrable experience with Liquid, Shopify's templating language. 

-Mastery of core web technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and modern front-end frameworks (e.g., jQuery, React, or Vue.js exposure is a plus). 

-Experience consuming and working with the Shopify Storefront API and Admin API (REST/GraphQL). 

-Comfortable using Git/GitHub/GitLab in a team environment.
