Your future responsibilities:
- Creation and validation of ideas for building data-driven on a domain scale
- Development of ETL data pipelines: loading from various sources, cleaning, transformation, enrichment with external data, normalization/denormalization
- Manage data ingestion, storage, and processing pipelines to ensure efficient data flow and accessibility
- Utilize Python and Scala extensively for data processing and analytics tasks
- Conduct data modeling to optimize database performance and ensure data integrity
- Implement and refactore Spark jobs to improve performance and scalability
- Develop Kafka-based solutions on Python for real-time data streaming and processing
- Create dashboards and alerts to address potential issues proactively
Your skills and experience:
- 3+ years experience in a dedicated data engineer role
- Experience working with large structured and unstructured data in various formats
- Knowledge or experience with streaming data frameworks and distributed data architectures
- Experience in building lakehouses on AWS
- Practical experience in the operation of Big Data stack: Kafka, Spark
- Experience with Python (and Scala would be a plus)
- Expert knowledge of PySpark: transformations, aggregations, window functions, writing and optimizing UDFs
- Practical Experience with RDBMS + NoSQL databases
- Development experience in Docker/Kubernetes environment
- Open and team-minded personality and communication skills
- Willingness to work in an agile environment
- Databricks experience would be a plus
