Key Responsibilities

BC Functional Expertise

About the Project
We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist / ML Engineer to support a Berlin-based logistics technology product company on a data science project focused on building a production-ready MVP.
The project is currently in an early research / proof-of-concept stage. Initial validation has shown that the concept is technically feasible, and the next step is to bring it from research into a usable MVP that can be integrated into the existing product infrastructure.
The solution will use positional / location-based data to identify specific locations and generate insights that help drivers and improve operational efficiency.
This is not a fully isolated greenfield project. The work will be connected to existing internal systems, data pipelines, and infrastructure. Therefore, the ideal candidate should be highly autonomous, senior enough to clarify requirements directly with internal stakeholders, and able to take ownership of the solution with limited day-to-day supervision.

Responsibilities

• Own the data science and ML development work from research validation to a usable MVP.
• Build and improve data pipelines and ETL processes that feed the model.
• Work with positional / geospatial / location-based data.
• Develop, validate, and iterate on ML models that identify relevant locations and generate useful outputs for the product.
• Prepare the model and pipelines to run in production on a scheduled basis.

• Build across the stack. Design, develop and support web applications end to end — frontend interfaces and the backend services and APIs behind them. Build new features, improve existing functionality, and keep the codebase healthy as it grows.

• Own delivery of smaller projects end to end. Take a PoC or small AI project from the agreed approach to a working, validated deliverable largely on your own — making sound implementation decisions as you go and flagging the ones that need input. 
• Contribute on larger teams. On medium-to-large projects, own your part of the system, integrate cleanly with other engineers, and keep your components reliable. Participate in technical discussions and contribute to implementation decisions within an agreed architecture. 
• Make AI systems reliable, not just demoable. Handle context windows, token and latency constraints, error and failure modes, and the accuracy/traceability requirements that matter in regulated work. Test what you build, including the behavior of the AI parts. 
• Integrate and connect. Design and consume REST APIs, integrate third-party AI models and enterprise data sources (external APIs, document ingestion, SharePoint and similar), and wire up authentication where needed. 
• Support the team. Review code, share patterns, and help teammates when needed. 

What we’re looking for 

• Strong experience (5 years plus) building and shipping production software full-stack, with hands-on experience integrating LLMs into real applications (at least 1 year). 
• Solid LLM engineering skills: RAG, embeddings and vector search, prompt-engineering patterns, and at least some exposure to multi-agent orchestration. You understand how to make an AI feature behave reliably, not just produce a good first demo. 
• Backend: Python and/or Node.js.  
• Frontend: React, Next.js and/or Vue (component design, state management). 
• Data: SQL, NoSQL and vector databases. 
• Good understanding of REST APIs, integration patterns, Git and branching workflows.

We are looking for a GenAI Architect who can own the full arc of an engagement: scoping and estimating new work in presales, designing the solution, and staying hands-on enough to help the delivery team build it well. 

What you'll do 

• Scope and estimate (presales). Turn client briefs into structured requirements, assumptions, risks, and dependencies. Produce work breakdowns and estimates, propose team composition, and present side-by-side platform or approach options when the client needs to make a choice. Defend the numbers to stakeholders and adjust them as the scope clarifies. 
• Design the solution. Architect GenAI applications end to end: multi-agent orchestration, RAG and semantic-search flows, data and document connectors, evaluation harnesses, audit trails, and the surrounding web application. Choose models, platforms and patterns deliberately, and write the reference architecture and decision memos that capture why. 
• Be the technical voice with clients. Translate effectively between business stakeholders and engineers, reflecting the client's specific vocabulary and making complex trade-offs clear: such as choosing between a thin-slice POC and an enterprise data foundation, lightweight orchestration versus heavyweight, or build-now versus design-for-later. 
• Stay hands-on in delivery. Set up the technical foundations, prototype the high-risk parts, review code, and unblock the team. Build proofs of concept quickly to validate feasibility and value before scaling. Keep the delivered system true to the design — especially the parts that matter most for accuracy and traceability. 

What we're looking for 

• Extensive experience designing and deploying production-quality software, with a proven track record in applied GenAI — delivering reliable systems, not just prototypes. 
• Real depth in LLM engineering: multi-agent orchestration, RAG, embeddings and vector search, graphs and ontologies, prompt-engineering patterns and — crucially — how you evaluate and measure an AI system rather than just demo it. 
• Strong full-stack foundations: Python or Node.js on the backend; React or Vue on the frontend; SQL, NoSQL and vector databases. 
• Cloud fluency across at least one major platform and a working understanding of the others — AWS/Bedrock, Cloudflare, GCP/Vertex AI, Azure/OpenAI — including the services that back AI workloads.
