On behalf of our Client – a UK-based technology company specializing in transport retail and digital ticketing platforms — Mobilunity is looking for a Senior DevOps (AWS) Engineer (EU based only).

Our client partners with leading transportation operators to deliver innovative digital ticketing systems, scalable SaaS platforms, and customer-facing applications. Their solutions enhance passenger experience while enabling modern retail capabilities across rail and wider transport networks.

Mobilunity is seeking a Senior DevOps(AWS) Engineer to support our client’s cloud-native infrastructure and platform reliability initiatives. You will design, implement, and maintain highly scalable AWS environments, build infrastructure-as-code platforms, and develop automation tooling that enables secure, resilient, and efficient engineering operations.

Responsibilities:

• Design and manage AWS production-grade cloud environments
• Implement scalable containerized workloads using ECS and Fargate
• Build and maintain Terraform-based infrastructure (module-driven architecture)
• Develop automation tooling using Python (boto3) and Bash scripting
• Design secure networking architectures including VPCs, subnets, routing, and load balancing
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Git-based workflows
• Ensure monitoring, logging, and security across infrastructure (CloudWatch, GuardDuty, WAF)
• Support database operations including RDS (Multi-AZ), DynamoDB, and DMS migrations
• Implement disaster recovery and resilience strategies
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to improve deployment reliability and operational efficiency

Must have skills:

• VPC, subnets, NAT gateways, and route tables
• ECS and Fargate architecture and scaling patterns
• Application Load Balancer (ALB) and CloudFront
• RDS (Multi-AZ deployments, backups, performance tuning)
• DynamoDB
• IAM (advanced policy design)
• AWS WAF, GuardDuty, and CloudWatch
• AWS Step Functions
• AWS Database Migration Service (DMS)
• AWS disaster-recovery design and implementation

Infrastructure as Code

• Advanced Terraform experience with reusable module design
• Remote state management using S3 and DynamoDB locking
• Git-based infrastructure workflows

Containers

• Strong Docker experience
• Container logging, troubleshooting, and debugging
• ECS architecture design and operational management

CI/CD

• GitHub Actions pipeline development and optimization
• Git workflows and branching strategies
• Experience with Amazon ECR

Networking

• Secure subnet and network segmentation architecture
• TLS/SSL certificate lifecycle management (ACM)
• DNS management using Route 53
• Load balancing strategies and traffic routing

Programming & Scripting (Mandatory)

• Python (mandatory): automation, boto3, Lambda tooling, internal platform tooling
• Bash scripting (mandatory): CI/CD scripting, automation, operational tooling
• Strong ability to build internal automation and developer productivity tools

Nice to have skills:

• Multi-region AWS infrastructure experience
• Observability platform design and SRE practices
• Experience supporting high-availability production systems
• Experience working with distributed international engineering teams
