    Why Veido

Veido is a boutique product development agency specializing in complex, high‑impact platforms across healthcare, marketing, transportation, and more. We deliver innovative solutions for international clients and products used by 10,000,000+ users globally. You’ll join a fast, pragmatic engineering culture with modern tooling, world‑class offices, and teammates (including many from Ukraine) already on site.

    The role

We’re hiring an experienced DevOps Engineer (GCP‑focused) to own our cloud foundations and reliability at scale. You will:

    • Oversee complex multi‑regional cloud infrastructure (GKE‑centric on GCP) for availability, performance, and security.
    • Lead architecture for our instance‑generation workflows β€” a per‑tenant, Β«instance factoryΒ» for our SaaS where isolated customer environments are provisioned as standalone instances via GitOps/Terraform templates, secure defaults, and automated bootstrapping.
    • Optimize six‑digit cloud expenses through FinOps best practices (rightsizing, autoscaling, CUDs/committed use, storage/network optimizations, spot/preemptible strategies) and architectural improvements.
    • Assist teams with deployments and champion CI/CD, release hygiene, and incident readiness.

You’ll be hands‑on, decisive, and comfortable balancing speed with stability in a high‑growth product environment.

    What you’ll do

    • Infrastructure as Code: Design, provision, and manage GCP resources using Terraform (Terragrunt/Pulumi a plus).
    • Kubernetes at scale: Operate GKE (Helm‑based microservices), craft secure namespaces, policies, and autoscaling strategies.
    • Service mesh & traffic: Configure Envoy / Istio for progressive delivery, traffic shaping, mTLS, and zero‑trust patterns.
    • Inter‑service comms: Support gRPC services and optimize connectivity, retries/timeouts, and resilience.
    • Multi‑region & global L7: Operate multi‑regional clusters, Global Load Balancing, CDN/edge, and Cloud Armor.
    • CI/CD & GitOps: Own pipelines with ArgoCD (and Cloud Build/GitHub Actions where useful); automate blue/green & canary.
    • Observability: Build actionable monitoring with Prometheus/Grafana and Cloud Monitoring/Logging; define SLOs/SLIs.
    • Security & secrets: Standardize IAM, Workload Identity, Secret Manager, supply‑chain security, image scanning, SBOMs.
    • FinOps: Analyze spend, set budgets/alerts, forecast usage, and drive cost‑saving experiments with engineering leads.
    • Reliability: Run game days, incident reviews, and capacity planning; write runbooks and improve MTTR.

    What you’ll bring

    • 4+ years of production DevOps/SRE experience, including 3+ recent years on GCP.
    • Expert with Terraform, strong with Kubernetes/Helm and Docker.
    • Practical experience with Envoy, Istio, and gRPC.
    • Track record running multi‑regional systems and global load balancers.
    • Familiarity with Cloud Armor, VPC design, and networking fundamentals (subnets, HTTP, DNS, TLS, OSI).
    • Proven CI/CD delivery (ArgoCD preferred) and GitOps practices.
    • Comfort operating in consultative/product settings; clear written/spoken English.

Bonus: AWS exposure; DB ops at scale (Cassandra/ClickHouse/OpenSearch); Prometheus/Grafana/ELK depth; CKA/GCP/AWS certs; open‑source contributions.

    Work modes

    Remote (Europe‑friendly):

    • Work from anywhere with 4+ hours overlap with EET/EEST.
    • Stable connection, security hygiene, and camera‑on collaboration for key sessions.

On‑site with relocation (from Ukraine β†’ EU): This track includes a comprehensive, hands‑on relocation package:

    • Legal & residence permits: End‑to‑end guidance; typical onboarding ~1βˆ’2 weeks (subject to authorities).
    • Housing support: accommodation near the office; assistance with deposit and long‑term lease setup.
    • Transport & logistics: Flight/ground travel coordination and arrival support.
    • Equipment & setup: Day‑1 workstation (laptop/monitor/peripherals) and office access.
    • Community: Established Ukrainian teammates on site to help you settle quickly.

Important: For the on‑site track, applicants must be ready and eligible to relocate to IaΘ™i, Romania or Riga, Latvia in compliance with Ukrainian and EU regulations.

    Compensation & growth

    • Competitive salary (top of regional market) with performance‑based growth.
    • Meaningful ownership over architecture and platform direction.
    • Real impact on products used globally.
    • Paid national holidays, vacation, and sick leave.

    How to apply

    • If On‑site:
      • 1) Preferred location (IaΘ™i or Riga),
      • 2) Earliest relocation date from Ukraine,
      • 3) Confirmation you are legally able to relocate and work on‑site in the EU.
