Skills & Experience

Required:

• Academic or professional background in space engineering, aerospace, or a related discipline;
• Understanding of space environment physics — radiation effects (TID, SEE, displacement damage), thermal modeling, vacuum-induced material degradation;
• Knowledge of, or willingness to dig into, satellite system architecture — payload, onboard computers, communication subsystems;
• Experience with sensors or optoelectronic systems — understanding the limitations of cameras, optics, and detectors in extreme conditions;
• Systems analysis and scientific research skills — the ability to independently structure research, work with scientific publications, and draw well-founded conclusions;
• Self-direction and the ability to deliver structured results with minimal oversight.

Nice to have:

• Hands-on involvement in a space project, CubeSat mission, or university/research-institution R&D program;
• Familiarity with ECSS standards (E-ST-10, E-ST-20, Q-ST-60) or NASA technical standards;
• Understanding of approaches to space component selection and qualification;
• Background in optics, multispectral/hyperspectral imaging, or lidar systems;
• Experience writing R&D reports or scientific publications.

We are looking for a strong Computer Vision and Geospatial AI engineer to work on an AI product in the defence tech domain. The project is long-term and technically challenging

Responsibilities

• Development and optimization of the Computer Vision pipeline
• Working with video streams and processing low-quality video input
• Implementation of cross-view feature matching and image retrieval
• Building and indexing a georeferenced tile database
• Object georeferencing and spatial analytics
• Optimization of inference latency and performance
• Participation in system architecture design

Requirements

Must-have

• 4+ years of experience in Computer Vision / Deep Learning
• Hands-on experience with geo-localisation, place recognition, or image retrieval
• Feature extraction with foundation models: DINOv2, CLIP, or equivalent
• Keypoint detection and matching: LightGlue, LoFTR, DISK, SuperPoint
• Contrastive / metric learning: InfoNCE, triplet loss, hard negative mining
• Homography estimation and geometric verification
• Experience with satellite imagery and geospatial data
• Coordinate systems, tile indexing, GDAL
• Vector search: FAISS or other ANN libraries
• Python, PyTorch at production level
• Experience with video pipelines
• Linux, Docker

Nice to have

• PhD in Computer Vision, Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing, Geomatics, or Robotics
• Publications in cross-view localisation, visual SLAM, or UAV navigation
• Experience with degraded or compressed video
• TensorRT, ONNX, edge deployment
• CUDA
• Background in defence, aerospace, or robotics
