What we need

We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Engineer to help build out our high-load ad serving system, capable of handling over 2M requests/second under 50ms response time.
 

What you'll be doing

• Developing features and performance optimisation for our Java ad-serving application
• Implementing complex targeting algorithms developed by our data science team into the core ad-serving flow
• Implementing backend for BI ad-hoc queries
   

Must have skills

• Java 17+ (Spring Boot, Gradle)
• REST API design and implementation
• SQL (PostgreSQL) + experience with schema migrations
• Experience with microservices architecture
• Production experience with GCP or similar cloud platform

Strong testing practices (unit + integration

Nice-to-have

• GraphQL (consumer or provider side)
• OpenRTB / ad tech domain knowledge
• Kubernetes / GKE
• Experience with event-driven systems
• AI/agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Copilot)

Soft skills

• Can operate independently on ambiguous problems
• Comfortable working with a distributed team (Ukraine, Poland, UK)
• Willing to mentor mid-level BE devs

Requirements:

Experience with backend testing

Networking L3-L4

3+ years of manual testing experience

Upper-intermediate level of spoken and written English

BS degree in Computer Science or related engineering degree

Major plus:

Networking L2, CCNA/HCNA certification

Experience embedded firmware testing

Automation testing experience

Experience on Linux platforms

Responsibilities:

Regression, exploratory, issues verification testing;

MQA lab setups maintaining;

Take part in test planning and estimation;

Manual testing — 90%, Automation — 10%

Candidate needs to be in Kyiv (or consider relocation). Hybrid type of work.

Ми очікуємо, що ти:

• Маєш 1+ рік досвіду Manual тестування Web-додатків.

• Маєш практичний досвід тестування платіжних систем.

• Фундаментально розумієш QA-процеси, техніки та методології, а також життєвий цикл розробки ПЗ (SDLC).

• Вмієш створювати та підтримувати актуальну тестову документацію (test cases, checklists).

• Маєш досвід проведення функціонального (acceptance, regression) та нефункционального тестування (performance, usability).

• Маєш базові або впевнені навички в API testing.

• Вільно працюєш з JIRA або іншими Test Management інструментами.

• Маєш досвід роботи з базами даних MySQL та MongoDB.

Твої майбутні задачі:

• Проведення функціонального та регресійного тестування нашого Sportsbook продукту.

• Аналіз та опрацювання вимог: пошук прогалин і потенційних багів ще на етапі планування.

• Оцінка (estimation) часу, необхідного на тестування задач.

• Створення та актуалізація тестової документації.

• Підготовка чітких баг-репортів та Test Summary репортів.

• Надання регулярних статус-апдейтів щодо прогресу тестування для команди.

Буде плюсом:

• Знання у сфері беттінгу, досвід роботи з ним або загальний досвід в iGaming.

• Розуміння основ Automation testing.
