Data/Business Analyst (offline)

Project Description:
The project's Vision is to become the definitive reference for accurate athlete data, historical results and biographies, acting as a trusted partner that shares sports data to improve exposure and engagement and offers an opportunity to digitise sports data-related processes across the entire Olympic Movement, local organising committees of single and multi-sports events, and the Media.
The main deliverable of the SDW is a centralised data warehouse of sports results and athlete biographical data formed from the aggregation of multiple existing databases that are held and maintained by each contributor to the project.
In parallel to developing the warehouse will be the development of applications that can leverage this central repository to supply various functions to various stakeholders. This can include:
Widgets to enhance an athlete's social profile
Registration tools for events
Data analysis and presentation of sports statistical information
Responsibilities:
Identify and/or review high level business requirements coming from Product Managers and detail them in the form of user stories;
Create, maintain data mappings
Support decision making with data analysis
Manage product backlog (building, prioritization);
Participate in peer review sessions (requirements specifications, system design)
Participate in release and iteration planning;
Work together with development team(s) in a role of proxy product owner;
Assist the team with understanding of requirements in particular during estimation meetings; ensure that specifications are unambiguous;
Review acceptance test specifications and occasionally perform acceptance testing of the developed functionality
Evaluate information systems functionality to identify gaps;
Assist senior managers in identifying problems or opportunities that might be addressed to the software system;
Mandatory Skills:
- Business Domain Analysis experience (3+ years)
- Data Analysis, Modeling and Transformation (3+ years)
- Experience in technical documentation (Functional requirements, design specifications, data mapping documents)
- Advanced+ English - direct customer conversations
- Experience in document and No-SQL databases is a plus
- Great communication skill as great part of the work related to the knowledge transferring between the development and domain teams
- UML, data modelling
- SQL, XML, XPATH, JSON. Knowledge of XSLT, XQUERY is a must
- Programming, scripting skills (e.g. Python, R)
- Experience in sport or media is a plus
