Solution Implementer (Good with Math and figuring out how things work) (offline)
YOUR BACKGROUND
You should have some level of experience in software or app development. A lot is not needed, but at least some.
More importantly, you must have a deep understanding in any kind of technical field such as traditional Engineering (something like Mechanical, Electrical, GIS, etc.). Or if you have a strong background in Math, Physics or Science, any of those background would be great. We’ll give you lots of helpful information. But all in all, you should be curious and good at discovering and researching things on your own to figure out how things work.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The key part needed from you is to gain a clear understanding of how our customer business processes works. Once you do, you’ll implement information into our software and then perform QA to make sure expected results in configuration are accurate.
The most important part of this job is the Discovery phase. During this phase, you will study information provided by customer to understand their processes. This information is often provided with flow-charts as well as Excel spreadsheets.
You will discover and make sure we have defined each step and formula that our customer’s process depends on. Often times, the customer doesn’t provide all of the necessary answers. If you recognize any gaps or broken logic, then it would be great if you research answers on your own without having to ask the customer for help. This makes for a better customer experience. Of course, when needed, you will ask the customer with follow-up questions or requests for more information.
When you do discovery of our customer process, it’s key you get a more fundamental knowledge of what the customer’s process is about, which will help you understand how to implement the customer’s process with our software that much better. In addition to studying process information provided by our customer, you may have to investigate other information as well. This could be documentation from our customer’s website or even their competitors. It also could entail you research compliance information such as building codes and gaining an understanding on what formulas or values a business processes depends on.
REQUIRED BACKGROUND / SKILLS
- Decent English
- Some working experience in Javascript
- Understand how to follow formulas and dependencies in Excel
- Excellent knowledge in some field of Math
