The company develops innovative, FDA-cleared LED light therapy and connected skincare devices that combine advanced hardware, embedded technology, and mobile applications to deliver premium at-home skincare solutions used by customers worldwide.

 

About the Role
 

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Mobile & Embedded Software Engineer to lead the end-to-end development of a companion mobile application for a Bluetooth-enabled skincare device.

This is a hands-on role for a senior contractor who can take ownership of the entire development lifecycle—from defining the architecture and technical specifications to building, integrating, testing, and delivering the final solution.

The successful candidate will work independently as the primary engineer on the project, collaborating directly with the client and taking full ownership of the product from concept through launch.

Following the initial product release, there is an opportunity to continue working with the company on a long-term part-time basis, providing ongoing support, maintenance, and feature enhancements for a few hours each week.

 

Responsibilities
 

• Design and develop a mobile application for a Bluetooth-enabled skincare device.
• Define the overall system architecture and application structure.
• Implement reliable Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication between the mobile application and the device.
• Collaborate on firmware integration and hardware communication.
• Write detailed technical specifications and system documentation.
• Lead the development process from concept through production release.
• Troubleshoot hardware/software integration issues.
• Ensure high performance, reliability, and maintainability of the application.
• Deliver a production-ready solution within the project timeline.
  
   

Requirements
 

• 5+ years of experience in mobile application development (iOS, Android, or cross-platform).
• Strong expertise with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
• Solid experience integrating mobile applications with embedded systems and firmware.
• Hands-on experience developing software for connected skincare devices or skincare technology products is required.
• Proven experience delivering products from concept to production.
• Ability to independently define architecture, make technical decisions, and own the full development lifecycle.
• Experience writing technical specifications and system requirements.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
  
   

Nice to Have
 

• Experience with connected medical, wellness, beauty-tech, or IoT devices.
• Experience with BLE device certification and testing.
• Familiarity with FDA-regulated or consumer healthcare products.
  
   

Engagement Details
 

• Employment Type: Contract / Freelance.
• Location: Remote, with a preference for candidates located within 2–3 hours of the Israel time zone to support effective collaboration.
• Team: You will be the sole engineer responsible for this project.
• Working Hours: Flexible, with occasional evening meetings (around 8:00–9:00 PM Israel time) with the US-based team.
• Long-term Opportunity: After the initial development is complete, the role is expected to continue on a part-time basis (a few hours per week) for ongoing support, maintenance, bug fixes, and future feature development.
