ELK Stack Architect (offline)

We are looking for a remote developer for one of our UK clients.

The ELK Stack Developer will play a lead role in delivering high-value next-generation insights product. You’ll be required to write high-quality, highly optimized/high-performance and maintainable code.

Attention to detail is important, and the ability to think outside the box about edge cases.

You should have experience on installing, configuring, operating, performance tuning, and scaling ELK solutions on cloud scale environment.

As this is a greenfield project, there is an opportunity to bring ideas to the table about the direction and tools we implement.

Working with Agile development teams in various locations (there are already several developers from Ukraine), the ability to communicate effectively in a stand-up or over slack is important. Tools such as JIRA will be used to track tasks and sprint planning meetings will take place to estimate development and test work.

Project overview:

Our client is a market leading supply chain logistics company operating globally in e-commerce returns. With an increasing growth and revenue, they are starting a greenfield project to relaunch our returns and analytics platforms.

In order to create innovative software solutions to hundreds of retail customers and millions of end users they are seeking development professionals to join our UK based technology team.

Their current platform is built to integrate hundreds of carriers and retailers and they will use the existing API framework to build a completely new front end portal for retail and end users using Elastic stack, React/Node JS frameworks.


Responsibilities:

• Develop, deploy, and optimize Elastic Stack architectures
• Work with engineering teams to optimize Elasticsearch data ingest and search.
• Worked on different ETL processes for the data ingestion module
• Experience working within a cloud environment – Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Contribute to team design discussions with detailed technical information
• Develop code with quality, scalability and extensibility
• Provide work breakdown and estimates for complex software development tasks

Requirements:

• 1+ Years of experience with the ELK stack
• Must be able to provide Infrastructure design for the ELK Clusters
• Must have experience in providing Solution Architecture for Big Data projects
• Must be capable of processing large sets of structured, semi-structured and unstructured data and supporting systems application architecture.
• Must be able to provide Elasticsearch and Logstash performance and configuration tuning
• Must be able to configure logstash: input, filter, output plugins - database, jms, log file sources and elastic search as output converting search indexes to Elastic with large amount of data
• Will create dashboards for monitored data in Kibana /TODO rephrase
• Must have experience of working with JIRA or another workflow tools
• Must have strong Analytical and Communication skills
