Network Admin (offline)
Education & Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, undergraduates also accepted
• Cisco CCNA required (pursuing at the moment are also acceptable)
• 1+ years of experience in networking
• Experience with LAN/WAN networking/distributed computing environment
• Understanding of common information architecture frameworks
We will also consider part time and remote specialists
Responsibilities:
• Work remotely and use another technician as “ hands and eyes”.
• Implement change management to ensure all parties are aware of any downtime and mistakes can be rolled back if necessary.
• You will work on multiple projects at the same time and are expected to be capable of defining the activities and effort levels necessary to accomplish their assigned activities.
• Configuring, testing, and troubleshooting of network equipment such as Cisco routers/switches and wireless LAN equipment in coordination with Project, Servicing, and Customer teams.
• Completes project tasks and assignments to meet project deadlines.
• Present strong interpersonal and communication skills; customer facing, vendor liaison, able to work closely with a team.
• Ensure the stable operation and efficient performance of company and customers’ networks.
• Identify and remedy network performance bottlenecks.
• Receive and respond to incoming calls, trouble tickets, and/or e-mails regarding network connectivity problems.
• Prepare, maintain, and adhere to procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring network data.
• Document all network designs, configurations, and network change requests to maintain real-time accountability network architecture.
• Flexible schedule and sense of urgency to support escalations that impact business operations and client services.
Necessary Knowledge:
• Mikrotik routers and wireless AP
• Cisco, Checkpoint firewalls
• Cisco switches
• High availability networks
• Routing protocols (ospf, is-is, bgp, rip etc.)
• Inter-vlan routing
• VPN configuration and troubleshooting
• Troubleshooting tools including wireshark and Cisco packet tracer
• Visio or other applications to document network topology and layout
• Good spoken English
