The Client is seeking an accomplished Design System Engineering Lead to lead the strategy, development, and evolution of our industry-leading design system, Connect.
Connect powers a diverse range of Mobile and Web applications used across Angular, React, and HTML environments, enabling teams to deliver exceptional, consistent, and accessible user experiences.
As a seasoned leader, you will define and execute a compelling vision for our design system, ensuring its seamless adoption across product teams and its evolution to meet the growing needs of our platform. Requirements:
Experience:
- 5+ years of professional experience in front-end engineering, including 1+ years in leadership roles overseeing teams or large-scale projects.
- Proven track record in building and scaling design systems used across web and mobile platforms.
Technical Expertise:
- Expertise in StencilJS, Webpack, and modern JavaScript frameworks like Angular and React.
- Strong understanding of module federation and micro-frontend architectures, with experience implementing scalable, modular systems.
- Hands-on experience with tools like Figma and Supernova, integrating them into the design-to-development pipeline.
Design System Mastery:
- Demonstrated success building reusable component libraries and npm packages that meet diverse application needs.
- In-depth knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG), performance optimization techniques, and responsive design principles.
Leadership and Collaboration:
- Proven ability to manage and mentor high-performing, cross-disciplinary teams.
- Strong collaboration skills with designers, product managers, and engineers to align vision and deliver results.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the Vision and Strategy: collaborate with Engineering, Product and Design Leadership, Define the roadmap and direction for Toolkit, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and the needs of both internal teams and end-users.
- Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing design system engineering team that fosters innovation and accountability.
- Drive Development and Maintenance: Oversee the development of scalable, browser-native web components built with StencilJS, ensuring cross-browser compatibility and seamless integration with Angular, React, and plain HTML.
- Integrate with Figma: Establish seamless connections between Toolkit and Figma, empowering designers to contribute directly to the component ecosystem and maintaining visual consistency across platforms.
- Adopt Best Practices: Champion cutting-edge standards for accessibility (WCAG), performance optimization, scalability, and responsive design to ensure Toolkit meets the highest quality benchmarks.
- Foster Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to gather requirements, prioritize features, and address feedback, ensuring Toolkit evolves to support evolving business and user needs.
- Enhance Developer Experience: Monitor and improve usability and adoption metrics for Toolkit’s npm package, driving awareness and seamless integration into product workflows.
- Promote Innovation: Cultivate a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement, identifying and implementing new tools, methodologies, and frameworks that enhance the design system.
