Lead SDN Engineer

Our client is a global telecommunications and data center services provider, headquartered in Europe. We seek a skilled and experienced SDN Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling, Python programming, database management, and cloud-native technologies. The role requires a deep understanding of Network practices, agile project methodologies, and excellent problem-solving skills.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Work in a team of 5 SDN engineers;
• Contribute to SDN solution architecture;
• Enhance and maintain the existing SDN framework;

• Use SDN framework for 3rd-party network components migration.

   

Education, skills and experience:

Must have:

• Programming: Strong experience in Python;
• Data Modelling: Proficient in YANG, JSON, REST, YAML, and Netconf;

• Confident understanding of SDN, NSO and L2-L3 concept.

   

Would be a plus:

• Expertise in Lumen Network landscape;
• Database Management: Hands-on experience with Redis, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL;
• Streaming & Messaging: Proficiency in KAFKA and RabbitMQ;
• DevOps Tools: Expertise in Git/GitHub, Jenkins, and Azure pipelines;
• Automation & Testing: Skilled in Robot Framework, Ansible, and Postman;
• Cloud-Native Technologies: Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes;
• Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile projects, understanding the Agile mode, DevOps practices, and SDLC process;
• Linux Skills: Excellent Linux skills for system administration and troubleshooting;
• Networking: Understanding of NSO, SDN, and basic L2-L3 networking concepts. Knowledge of network services such as IPACCESS, IPTRANSIT, and EVPN is a plus;
• Workflow Engines: Previous experience with a workflow engine is an added advantage.
