Technical SEO Manager (offline)

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Complete detailed technical SEO audit documentation and provide ad-hoc technical recommendations for enterprise-level, multi-national/lingual websites
- Create technical SEO project roadmaps according to known opportunities and limitations, which therefore result in achievable development projects.
- Manage the implementation of SEO recommendations with clients’ development teams and external agencies.
- Manage project management software (e.g. JIRA) and provide accurate progress reports to SEO account team flagging risks and opportunities
- Own the relationship with clients’ in-house technical teams and coordinate resource as necessary alongside the SEO management
- Producing detailed page speed audit documentation, measuring improvements against clear benchmarks created by industry standard page speed measurement tools
- Proficiency with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Omniture, as well as an understanding of tag management solutions
- Lead SEO technical excellence within the team, mentoring junior members and working with the SEO management team to improve team processes and deliverables
- Diagnosing search engine indexing issues caused by client-side JavaScript and providing solutions to ensure search engines can render and index content correctly
- Providing code examples to demonstrate the correct implementation of hreflang mark-up and schema mark-up
- Support account team in technical project scoping and new business due-diligence

ABOUT YOU:

- Experience in an SEO focused agency, working for a brand in-house in the SEO team or in a web development role
- Excellent English: written and spoken
- Able to confidently and concisely explain the most important SEO ranking factors to a non-technical audience and how to schedule these to maximize ROI
- High proficiency with SEO tools such as Screaming Frog, SEMRush, Ahrefs, SiteBulb, DeepCrawl, Botify, Search Console, SearchMetrics etc. Knows strengths and weaknesses of tools and how to best combine datasets to gain actionable insights
- Working knowledge of front-end mark-up (HTML & CSS) and how dynamic JavaScript frameworks may adversely affect the organic performance of a website
- Able to confidently explain the most significant Google milestones of the past 4 years including major updates and how they affected the SEO industry and its clients
- Advanced Excel including vlookup, pivot tables and analysis to derive useful insights from large datasets
- Willing to actively participate in new business pitches and responses
- Be able to get ‘hands on’ and deliver project elements for our clients, whilst also picking up management of client accounts once you’re integrated with the team and ways of working
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients and colleagues
