Senior Devops Engineer $5000-7000 (offline)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud-native applications, virtualization environments, and system administration. As a DevOps Engineer at CreatorHero, you will be responsible for managing and enhancing our deployment processes, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our infrastructure, and supporting the development team in delivering high-quality software. The candidate should have experience with remote working and on-call rotations, with enough flexibility to address production issues as they arise. Confidence in making cold changes in a production environment while continuously improving system resilience is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable and reliable bare metal infrastructure.
• Maintain and optimize virtualization environments, including Proxmox and VMware.
• Perform system administration tasks, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing server performance.
• Automate deployment processes using GitHub Actions.
• Collaborate with development teams to understand requirements and provide continuous integration and delivery solutions.
• Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using Helm.
• Utilize GitOps practices, specifically with Flux, to manage infrastructure and application deployments.
• Manage and orchestrate containerized applications using Rancher and Kubernetes.
• Ensure security best practices are followed across all infrastructure and deployments.
• Utilize monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus and Grafana to ensure system reliability and performance.
• Maintain and manage network and data center operations using Netbox.
• Maintain and manage infrastructure as code using Ansible and Terraform.
• Administer and optimize PostgreSQL databases.
• Maintain and manage proxy infrastructure using Squid.
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for production environments.
• Address production issues flexibly and promptly when they arise.
• Make confident, cold changes in a production environment when necessary.
• Continuously improve system resilience to avoid production issues.

Experience

• Cloud-Native Applications: Extensive experience with bare metal infrastructure and cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.).
• Virtualization Environments: Proficient in managing and maintaining virtualization environments using Proxmox and VMware.
• System Administration: Strong background in Linux system administration, including performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• CI/CD Pipelines: Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools, specifically GitHub Actions.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency with IaC tools such as Helm.
• GitOps: Hands-on experience with GitOps practices and tools, particularly Flux.
• Container Orchestration: Experience with Rancher and Kubernetes for managing containerized applications.
• Service Mesh: Familiarity with Istio for implementing service mesh solutions.
• Monitoring and Logging: Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Network and Data Center Management: Knowledge of Netbox for network and data center operations.
• Database Administration: Experience with PostgreSQL database administration and optimization.
• React and Java Deployments: Familiarity with deploying and managing applications built with React and Java.
• Build Tools: Knowledge of build automation tools such as Gradle and experience with front-end frameworks like NextJS.
• Remote Working and On-Call Experience: Proven experience working remotely and participating in on-call rotations.
• Flexibility: Ability to address production issues promptly and efficiently.
• Confidence: Ability to make cold changes in a production environment when necessary.
• System Resilience: Commitment to continuously improving system resilience to prevent production issues.
• Security Best Practices: Understanding of security best practices and implementation in cloud and on-premises environments.
• Collaboration: Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Service Mesh: Experience with solutions like Istio or similar is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a DevOps role or similar position.
• Relevant certifications (e.g. Certified Kubernetes Administrator).
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is a plus, but not required
