Junior/Switcher DevOps to $2000 (offline)

We are seeking a specialist to join our long-term project which has been in production for several years and manages a high volume traffic every day (up to 1 million users per day). As a member of our approximately 20-person team, you will play a crucial role in this new growing direction. The core business logic is already well-established and functioning seamlessly.

 

In collaboration with our highly experienced colleagues, you will be building new infrastructure on AWS (and potentially GCP in the future) and also maintaining existing AWS and Heroku based infrastructure, as well as migrating the remaining parts of the service from Heroku to AWS. In addition to that, there are several other projects where you can contribute in the future as well.

Test assignment

  • The vacancy involves a test assignment as one step in the hiring process. It is quite basic - just to test your skills.

Our working conditions

  • First month will be a paid Company Bootcamp.
  • Company Bootcamp period paid as fixed monthly payment in UAH.
  • Always stable and on time salary.
  • We work officially (Private Entrepreneur by contract);
  • Salary is calculated in $/h, with loads of 160 to 200 or more hours per month (all spent time is paid);
  • Additionally: company pays Bench as 75% from rate and FuckUp pays as 50% from rate.
  • Revision of the hourly rate every six months up to +50% (according to company regulations).
  • Quarterly bonus, project performance based.
  • English classes 2 times per week (groups of two people, after work hours).

  • Working day from 8:00 to 17:00 (The plan for the day is made at the stand-up meeting and must be accomplished (considering common sense) within the day according to the checkpoints. After accepting the work, the PM finalizes the working day).

Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience in backend development.
  • Experience in creating CI/CD pipelines, preferably with Bitbucket Pipelines.
  • Strong interest in infrastructure and DevOps/SRE culture.
  • Strong interest in learning DevOps technologies like Terraform.
  • Good understanding of CI/CD and IaaC paradigms.
  • Strong understanding of code versioning tools (Git).
  • Passion for software engineering, learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Ownership mentality.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.

 

Additional Skills (Nice to Have):

  • Experience with AWS, GCP, Heroku or other cloud providers.
  • Experience with Terraform or other IaaC tools.
  • Python experience.
  • Experience in network planning (CIDR ranges calculation, routing, VPN).
  • Experience with firewalls, network security.
  • SRE mindset.
  • Out-of-the-box thinking.
