Database Administrator (PostgreSQL, Rust)

Are you passionate about database administration and optimizing database performance? Join our team as a Database Administrator responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing our PostgreSQL database infrastructure. Your Responsibilities:

Provide support for database design initiatives and ongoing administration, including troubleshooting system issues, refactoring database instances, and conducting preventative maintenance.
Collaborate with development teams to ensure efficient database design and implementation, assisting in the development and upkeep of database-related documentation.

Install, configure, and manage PostgreSQL databases/shards, overseeing refreshes of test, staging, and development environments.
Monitor database performance, optimize databases, and enhance query performance to ensure optimal application performance.

What We're Looking For:

Hands-on experience administering, monitoring, and optimizing PostgreSQL databases in a production environment.
Ability to analyze database performance metrics, offer insights into performance enhancements, and suggest new database features to support application requirements.

Proven experience in monitoring and troubleshooting PostgreSQL databases, with a focus on maintaining high availability and reliability.
Willingness to participate in rotating on-call duty during working hours to address database-related incidents promptly.

Familiarity with Rust or another low-level language is a plus, but not required.

Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a multinational team across various time zones.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with database refactoring techniques and strategies.
Proficiency in database schema design and optimization.
Knowledge of database backup and recovery strategies.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in diagnosing and resolving database issues.
