Vice President of Research and Development

A recruitment agency, CodeSpace, is looking for a VP of R&D for an international product company in the domain of Web3, which is pioneering the development of an innovative cross-border, compliance-oriented payment blockchain.
Location: Bucharest, Romania, Local Position (from the office).

The company is on the lookout for a visionary R&D Manager to lead the Fintech and Crypto division. You will be responsible for:
- Build banking/ payment systems
- Oversees and guides all activities of the fintech and blockchain teams.
- Leads the design, build, and management of a secure, scalable and resilient platforms.
- Initiate and implement enterprise architecture best practices
- Plays a mentorship role to engineering personnel, constantly promoting best practices and improvement in their professional skills.
- Collaborate with product, compliance and other units to define, prioritize and execute the company roadmap.


What skills & experience you’ll bring:
- B.Sc. in Computer Science or related technical certificate.
- At least 8 years of hands-on experience in software engineering roles, involving Full-stack or backend experience, working within a fast-paced and fast-evolving environment.
- Demonstrate strong system-level troubleshooting skills and possess an ability to identify and resolve high-level scalability and performance issues.
- Experience in designing scalable architectures based on cloud providers GCP and Amazon a must.
- Strong communication skills in English within a highly collaborative environment.
- Experience with microservice architecture - must
Experience with cryptography - must
- Experience working on a high-scale distributed system - big advantage.
- Experience with iOS/Android development.
- A proactive approach with the ability to work effectively.
- Payments / Web3 / Cryptocurrency - huge advantage
- Experience in CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Web Servers, Web Protocols, Data Flows and Web Security Standards
- Blockchain Skills: experience developing contracts in Solidity and extensive knowledge of EVMalongside smart contracts. High familiarity with how decentralized exchanges and centralized exchanges work.
- Experience with API stress testing and benchmarking
