Conversational AI Application Lead Developer

Description

We are seeking a Natural Language Understanding (NLU) application lead developer to join our Solution Delivery team. You will be part of a talented software team that delivers the latest in Conversational AI and Virtual Agent technologies, bringing advanced voice and chat driven solutions to enterprises across the world.

As part of that team, you will be trained on Omilia’s NLU platform and gain an under the hood understanding of all technologies involved in enabling conversational, omni-channel human-system interactions.

Tasks and responsibilities include:
- Drive business requirements analysis, design and develop the solution to meet those requirements;
- Consult customers, provide guidance on problem resolution and best practices. Explain the technology and the application capabilities. Identify and communicate improvement opportunities;
- Communicate effort and timelines. Manage customer requests and expectations;
- Align with internal and external stakeholders;
- Lead a project team of NLU developers responsible for the design, development, and delivery of production-grade conversational AI applications, using Omilia’s technology suite;
- Manage the team’s backlog, and ensure the quality and the timely delivery of the application;
- Ensure that the application is in line with established usability principles and meets set KPIs.

Requirements
- Academic Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computational Linguistics, Natural Language Processing, other related field or equivalent experience;
- Programming knowledge, preferably JavaScript and/or Java and/or Python;
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience preferably in a customer-facing position;
- Excellent command of spoken and written English;
- Excellent communication skills and experience in working with customers;
- Accountable within demanding deadlines;
- Experience building Conversational AI systems either voice or chat based and/or experience with IVRs and contact center platforms and/or other production-level NLU/NLP solutions.

Nice to have:
- Experience consuming external systems such as web services (Postman, REST, SOAP etc);
- Understanding of networking and telephony concepts (VoIP, SIP connectivity, PBX etc);
- Familiarity with agile delivery methodology;
- Experience with GitLab and CI/CD processes;
- Knowledge of bash scripting;
- Knowledge of Spanish and/or French.
