Android Developer (CyberSecurity), Portugal (offline)

We’re seeking Android Engineers proficient in Android and Java for a world mobile phone and operating system manufacturer. The role involves analyzing, unpacking, and performing reverse engineering tasks on software affecting Android devices, within a project for our global partner company, based in Lisbon, Portugal.

We’re looking for individuals intrigued by analyzing and reverse engineering malicious software and systems, and designing and implementing fraud prevention mechanisms and tools. Requirements:
• Previous experience as an Android OS and Applications developer and/or Java developer
• Proficiency in at least one of these languages: Java, Kotlin, Python, C, C++
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Web, App, Network security, or similar fields
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English
• 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience
• Willingness to relocate to Lisbon, Portugal

Role Responsibilities:
• Analyze, unpack, and perform reverse engineering tasks on software impacting Android devices
• Review various SDKs and frameworks for the Android Platform (e.g., Xamarin, Flutter, Cordova, React)
• Develop tools and Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for reverse engineering tasks
• Respond to malware threats reported by external sources or third-party researchers
• Identify Indicators of Compromise (IoCs) and create rule-based scorers for automated detection
• Document findings and prepare reports

Good to Have:
• Experience in malware analysis of Android Applications
• Ability to analyze Android apps (APKs), including binaries
• Understanding of mobile threats and malware applications (e.g., Trojans, backdoors, Spyware)
• Exposure to application security standards such as OWASP TOP 10, OWASP Enterprise Security API (ESAPI) framework, SANS TOP 25, WASC, etc.
• Capability to identify and classify security threats
• Familiarity with tools like Frida, Burp, Ghidra, adb, or similar utilities
