SysOps (offline)
SMTP.com Integrated Operations Center is looking for an ambitious SysOps Engineer to join our growing team in Kyiv. The successful candidate will be essential in maintaining a modern Email Delivery Platform serving thousands of customers worldwide.
You will be responsible for supporting a complex email delivery platform, ensuring its stability and availability.
As part of Integrated Operations, you will be closely working with DevOps, Development and Customer Success departments, performing a critical role in connecting the dots between the early stages of new product creation to its live delivery and continuous support and improvements.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on recent experience in Linux server-side system administration (including server network administration, orchestration, etc.)
- Practical understanding of industry-standard Incident Management processes
- Ability and create and implement best-in-class technical documentation, processes and procedures
- Solution-driven mindset, strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to be a part of off-hours on-call rotation and escalation schedule or be a part of 24/7 shift rotation
- Confident spoken and written English language
Qualifications/Experience:
- Strong expertise in administration and engineering of Linux OS (Ubuntu, CentOS, AWS Linux)
- Experience with LXC, Docker virtualization, and Clouds (AWS containerisation experience preferred).
- Bash/python scripting experience for daily routine automation.
- Experience in various database administration and management (SQL, Redis, MongoDB)
- Experience in DNS server management, replication and redundancy configuration (private or public)
- Experience (1+ years) in task automation - Ansible CM or similar
- Experience in monitoring systems administration (Zabbix, Prometheus)
- Experience with AWS EC2 and Route 53 DNS
Responsibilities:
- Build, maintain and successfully resolve problems within the hybrid ecosystem of 500+ servers
- Implement, maintain and continuously improve Operations team processes to meet the target Service Level Objectives / Service Level Agreements and uptime goals and commitments
- Be an integral part of the Incident management process. Act as last-mile expert for the escalated issues and provide timed and efficient solutions, also providing subject matter expert (SME) assistance to teammates during the incident resolution process (both on/off hours on-call escalation participation)
- Support and optimize monitoring systems and related services around the product, including early incident detection and resolution with no- to minimal service impact
- Architect and implement increasingly better High Availability, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity (Backup) solutions.
- Lead the operational efforts in platform cloud expansion, including infrastructure, network, security and monitoring design and ongoing enhancements
- Contribute and optimize hybrid resource management and utilization strategy. Lead the cost optimization/performance improvement processes within the team.
- Support and maintain the up-to-date documentation for the infrastructures, systems, components, services and network layers
- Participation in software release management cycle
