Solution Architect

We encourage you to apply if you are a proactive, critical thinker, intellectually curious and detail-oriented Engineer who loves creating and building complex systems while keeping them simple. We’re looking for someone whose primary focus is Backend architecture and Infrastructure. Ideally, you’re an adept of clean code and Domain Driven Design.

You will be working with our all-remote Engineering and Product teams, studying new requirements, preparing integration guidelines, infrastructure development plan, provide guidance on certain solutions and issues, building relevant Proof-of-Concepts where necessary.

Our projects are monolithic REST API backends (PHP) which we develop by following the DDD approach and Angular frontends. Though our SEO-optimized website built with a static site generator. Our infrastructure runs in on managed AWS cloud services (ECS, RDS and other) and on Cloudflare CDN. CircleCI is the CI/CD solution of our choice.

Requirements

- 3+ years of proven work experience as a Solution Architect
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Significant professional experience with backend technologies (PHP is preferrable)
- Good understanding and hands-on experience with AWS Cloud (we use EC2, ECS, ALB, S3, Lambda, and few other services)
- Experience with infrastructure: docker, orchestration, CI/CD, CDNs, strong Linux skills
- Strong documentation skills
- Fluency in English

Would be a plus

- In-depth experience with Domain Driven Design (DDD) and / or Service-based architecture
- Experience with Infrastructure as a Code (i.e. Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools)
- Good understanding of a modern Frontend or Mobile technology stack (we use Flutter)
- Hands-on experience with Observability and Monitoring

What will you do

- Designing modern and clear architecture according to industry standard best practices while still keeping the balance between resources available and value
- Work with product team and study requirements, help find the balanced between value and complexity; Inform stakeholders about any issues and potential risks with the current technical solutions
- Work with documentation: document architecture decisions, detailed integration guidelines, create various diagrams (UML, C4)
- Create Proofs-of-Concept, implement automations, design fitness functions when it is necessary
- Supervise and guide work in the engineering team
- Assist in project infrastructure review and planning
