In the public health space, MAKE has partnered with the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluations (IHME) at the University of Washington (healthdata.org), an initiative privately funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. With them, they have been enabling public health policymakers to make data-based decisions for many years, and most recently we’ve been helping them empower governments and private organizations with their world-leading Covid-19 forecasting model. Clients that use the tools MAKE develops include federal and state governments protecting public health, large pharmaceutical companies working on life-saving drugs and interventions, and multinationals protecting the health and safety of their employees.

About the Position

MAKE is looking for a full-time Javascript/React contractor working remotely. We are looking for an experienced engineer to build tools and applications aimed at helping other projects integrate with blockchain.

About the team

MAKE has 30 team members in Ukraine, Poland, Germany, Lithuania, Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Israel, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Puerto Rico and the USA.

They are: front-end and back-end (Go, Rust, Node.js, PHP), QA, DevOps engineers, PMs, VP of Engineering, CTO, and CEO.

Required Skills

- At least five years of experience with Javascript

- At least two years of experience with React

- Experience with TypeScript

- Experience with design systems (eg. Figma, Sketch)

- Understanding of client-side architecture principles: Flux, MV

- Understanding of object-oriented design

- Understanding of semantic markup

- Understanding of scrum-like iterative development processes

- Comfortable with version control, build and test automation, continuous integration

- English proficiency sufficient to communicate with American co-workers

Bonus Skills

- Experience with Web APIs (eg. Window, Push, Web Workers)

- Experience with other programming languages

- Experiene with React Native and/or mobile

- Experience with blockchain

Location

The position is 100% remote.
