AML / KYC Officer (offline)
Who you are
We’re looking for an AML / KYC Officer who has a strong knowledge of KYC, billing process, non-compliance issues, compliance / risk & fraud of online payments, merchant account opening, etc.
Job Duties:
- Analyze Know-Your-Customer (KYC) requirements for onboarding new customers to ensure complete customer due diligence in accordance with regulations and internal policies
- Analyze new customers overall profile and assign AML/KYC risk rating
- Periodically analyze existing customers and assign AML/KYC risk rating
- Work collaboratively with AML compliance team (including the MLRO) to develop comprehensive onboarding and periodic risk rating measures and procedures
- Develop open and effective channels of communication with internal teams such as client service and audit
- Review, validate and track daily activity while maintaining all required controls.
- Handle complex onboarding issues and escalate as needed
- Assist with the development of new operational platforms
- Drive the successful testing and implementation of the new accounting, client onboarding and AML/KYC platforms
- Assist with supporting the development of a new operating model
- Examine and improve the client onboarding operating model in alignment with risk tolerance levels, while effectively communicating decision rationale based upon company policies and client goals
- Drive an environment of risk mitigation, operational control and client service
- Conduct regular training for support
- Communicate with contractors and partners (banks, crypto-exchanges, market-makers etc.).
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and a background in financial services or related field preferred
- 3-4 years of related experience. CAMS preferred, not required
- Good working knowledge of AML/KYC principles, specifically as they apply to evaluating new customer risks at onboarding
- Strong written and oral communication skills. Must be organized and demonstrate the ability to handle several competing priorities
- Deadline and detail oriented
- Computer proficient and working knowledge of desktop software applications (e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint etc.)
- Ability to collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization
- Ability to liaise at all levels with internal and external parties.
