About Us:

We are an early-stage start-up, based in London, with a solid product-market fit, impressive growth rates and a user base spread across the US, Europe, and Australia.
Founded in 2018, Koinly is used by thousands of cryptocurrency investors, accountants and blockchain businesses and is also the preferred tax partner for a number of leading cryptocurrency exchanges. We are building tools to enable the widespread adoption of cryptocurrency by automating the regulatory hurdles of tax compliance and asset tracking.

About the role:

We are looking for a Tech Lead with at least 5 years of Ruby on Rails coding experience to join and lead our Backend team. This is a fully remote position. You will be working primarily on the backend, writing clean, well-tested code, and managing the team of other Senior Ruby Developers.

We have an ambitious product road map and require a manager and a developer who has solid analytical skills and experience working on scaling ruby apps.

You will be the driving force of the technical team.

You will be responsible for the specification, architecture, and implementation of our innovative solution.

Your responsibilities would also include supporting the team to deliver fruitful results.

You will be supporting, coaching, and developing high-performing engineers through continuous feedback and through relationships with team leads.

You would be efficiently combining mentoring and coding responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

Requirements:

5+ years experience as a ruby or full-stack developer.

4+ years experience leading technical teams.

Worked on high-performance scalable SaaS apps.

Good understanding of Postgres, graphql and performance optimizations.

Ability to debug technical issues and solve problems effectively

Explaining technical concepts to a non-technical audience
Agile development methodologies and code reviews.

Bonus points if:

You have an interest in cryptocurrencies or financial products

You have experience with React

You have open Source Contribution(s) to boast of

Your experience with building web applications includes performant, data-intensive apps with large datasets (hundreds of millions of rows)

You have a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related subject.

You have worked with tools such as New Relic to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks

You have experience with time-series databases (timescale, influx)
